WordPress Version 3.3.2 - I cannot get the Portfolio images working.

    I've been messing around through all the documentation and tutorials I can find, and my Portfolio images will not open in the shadowbox. And no Portfolio settings seem to be working properly (for example when I select the type of Portfolio Grid, List etc) nothing changes about the format...

    Are there serious conflicts with the latest version of Wordpress? Please help.

    Hello 88008,

    Deactivate your plugins and send us a link to your page. Also paste the code your using here.

    I am not using any plugins. The portfolio is just terribly complicated to use and it seems something is not functioning correctly. For example, I added a galley to a portfolio, and none of those images show up? Example: http://sfnorthbayconstruction.com/2012/?post_type=portfolio&p=92&preview=true&preview_id=92&preview_nonce=5bc5156393

    I have 5 gallery images inserted into this posting, and nothing shows except the title.

    Another issue is I cannot remove the main large image for the portfolio, and the portfolio name is listed twice plus a duplicate of the main image. Example:
    http://sfnorthbayconstruction.com/2012/?post_type=portfolio&p=89&preview=true&preview_id=89&preview_nonce=6b683b3831

    Ok I was able to remove the large image by de-setting the featured image.

    And here is example of the shadowbox not working:
    http://sfnorthbayconstruction.com/2012/?post_type=portfolio&p=101&preview=true&preview_id=101&preview_nonce=50074be628 (click on Image #1)

    This just seems really, really complicated (and not functioning as intended) that's why I am guessing there is a bug with the latest version of Wordpress.

    All I am trying to do is create 6 Galleries with a portfolio of 10 images in each gallery. Each gallery should have a title, and each image within should have a title... I've been at this for over 3 hours and still cannot get this working right..

    I was a former user of U-Design, and thought this product would be superior and I am wrong so far... Please tell me I am just doing something wrong, but I cannot get the desired result no matter what I do at this point - and yes, I've been through the online instructions and read many threads in this form...

    THanks SOS

    I might have figured this out. I am running some new tests. Will update this post if resolved.

    What I am have a difficult finding documentation for is linking my main menu item Gallery to a main landing Gallery page that has one image from each Gallery linkable to the associated gallery. Is this possible w/out hardcoing urls?

  10. Hi!

    Have you seen our blog shortcodes? Maybe those will help you:

    I've pretty much got everything resolve, but I cannot figure out how to have one image per portfolio page represented on my Gallery Page.

    So for example:

    Gallery Page
    Project ABC (one image to represent this that links to a complete portfolio page)
    Project DEF (one image to represent this that links to a complete portfolio page)
    Project XYX (one image to represent this that links to a complete portfolio page)

    All images are pulled in from all galleries no matter the Portfolio shortcodes that I use to limit to a specific "category" image.

    It sounds like your wanting to use our portfolio. Something like this? http://themes.mysitemyway.com/fusion/galleries/portfolio-3-columns/

    See here for creating portfolio posts, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Using_the_Portfolio. Be sure to set a featured image to them.

    And then when editing your page use our portfolio shortcodes, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Portfolio_Shortcode, to display them.

    Hi Elliott,

    No. Not exactly.

    Please see this for example: http://sfnorthbayconstruction.com/gallery.php

    Notice how every image represents a category (or Project) in this gallery. If any gallery image is clicked, the viewer is taken to the images associated with that corresponding gallery.

    What I cannot resolve is how to assign 1 image per Portfolio Category represented on my Gallery page.. For example, you can see what I have here:
    http://sfnorthbayconstruction.com/2012/?page_id=16

    You can see I have 1 image from each category being pulled in like:

    [portfolio_grid column="4" showposts="1" cat="contemporary-remodel" disable="excerpt,date,more,visit,pagination"]

    [portfolio_grid column="4" showposts="1" cat="victorian-remodel"
    disable="excerpt,date,more,visit,pagination"]

    Can you see what I am trying to do? It's really not that complicated. Does this Theme support this type of functionality?

    I'm not sure I understand.

    The portfolio shortcode will pull in posts from the category you select. So what your trying to do is create a page showcasing all of the different categories?

    If so then you can use our image_frame shortcode like so to point to the various pages,

    <a href='link to the page'>
    [image_frame link_to = "false" prettyphoto = "false"]url to your image[/image_frame]
    </a>

    Hi Elliott,

    Yes. Exactly. And I did discover your suggestion last night, but I wanted to know if this could be done w/out any hard coding of url paths w/ default Theme functionally. I think you answered my question. Bummer :( ...

    I need to teach some non-techies how to use the gallery and I'm trying to stay away from any "code" stuff as it scares them!

    Let me know if you think of anything else.

    I would check out our shortcode generator, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Using_the_Shortcode_Generator, which let's you customize the shortcode before inserting it into the page.
