Use featured image as intro image banner

    I'd like to automatically display each blog post's featured image as the Intro Image Banner. I prefer how the Intro Image Banner displays full width (rather than how the featured image is displayed just as column width).

    I'm betting this needs some code tweaked in the theme.php file. Could you give me some guidance?

    Thank you - Dave

    Sorry to say Dave but MSMW support has not responded in almost a year. I'm just another client who tries to help out.

    With respect to your desire for a full width intro image banner on your posts just do the following:

    1) In the MSMW General Post Options on the edit view of the post check the Disable Featured Image option.
    2) manually insert the image in the post content with width of 100% such as:

    <img src="https://def.jpg" width="100%" />

    Not automatic...but gets the job done :-)

    Hope it helps.

    Bummer about MSMW. I really love these themes and our company is completely dependent on it now. Elliott, if you're still following these posts, contact me and I'm happy to pay you for your assistance.

    And thanks for your help, Tim. I think I'm close to getting it to happen automatically. I know that I need to replace the code at line 994 of theme.php, but I'm not sure how to get it to call the featured image.

    Tim - do you know where the code for the post content is held? I'm trying to find the code they use to call the featured post in the post content. Maybe I can use that code at line 994, resize it, and get 'er done.

    Well, I've gotten close. I know that it's mysite_get_post_image that calls the featured image. I can get it into almost the right place, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it display inside the <div class="intro">'s showing up outside of that div. Very weird. And I can't get it to display full width.

    Somebody who understands this stuff should offer a paid MSMW support package. I'd buy it.

    I will be putting up an open source fork on GitHub in a few weeks for the community to continue to use and will commit to basic bug fixes of the themes for 12 months. Depending on how the community grows there may be a future for these themes. We'll see.
