    I have just downloaded the new files from themeforest, and knowing there is so many changes and a new platform for the theme, can you provide reccomendations on how to best upgrade, ie. remove the old them, deactivate etc as it appears the folder names within the zip file are the same.
    Just if anyone can provide any assistance i would appreciate

  2. so i took the plunge and installed the new frame work...just so you know, this won't be a plug and play update... rename your current theme to something else... i changed my to old.awake so I can switch back and forth with the new awake 2.0... do a fresh install... I did a "mashup" install basically just putting all the files into the old awake folder and it didn't make a difference though..

    you will need to recreate all your portfolio post in a new custom post type called portfolio for it to work. also the shortcode has been revise so you'll need to change the code on every page you have a portfolio shortcode... furthermore, since the post are in a new post type, the url for the post will be changed... so say a page on my site was http://www.mysite.com/websites and it linked to my portfolio post... now, it would be http://www.mysite.com/portfolio... and from what i can see, that can't be easily changed... (Support: How can I rename or remove this post type from showing up on my URL? I am in real estate and I don't have portfolios!)

    you will need to revise your menus... its using wordpress menu system and not their own backend

    it seems that automatic line break is taken out of the system for whatever reason, so if your post are like mine and are formatted using automatic line breaks, it will look like a mess unless you put
    tags in between every line break (Support: Can you fix this? It would be very annoying to typing
    tags in all my old posts.)

    most of the shortcodes still work as before but may look slightly different than before... i had a [teaser] tag that looked totally different and out of place

    if you have long coded posts, it might not work as before... i have problems with the a tabbed gallery's border not extending to surround the fancy image gallery which worked before...

    (Support: this is the code I used before and it worked...

    [tab]

    [fancy_images height="70" width="130"]
    http://newhoustonproperties.com/wp-content/uploads/images/communities/telfair/6.jpg
    [fancy_images]

    [tab]

    even though there are much to work on I am excited to the new upgraded framework as I do see the benefit in the many changes made... just be careful in upgrading...

    Hello racerstodeath,

    Sorry, we should have had an upgrading topic completed already. I'll try and get one written up tonight.

    As for the permalinks open up /wp-contentt/themes/awake/lib/functions/theme.php and on line 372 you should see this,

    'rewrite' => array( 'with_front' => false ),

    Try changing it like this,

    'rewrite' => false,

    As for the fancy_images if possible send us a link to your site so we can take a closer look.

  4. Elliott,

    tried to fix the url but it didn't work... the url doesn't matches my permalink settings of /%category%/%postname%
    http://www.newhoustonproperties.com/?post_type=portfolio&p=9294 (not working at this point since I have to switch back to the 1.3 awake)

    also, if you look this page, notice that the tab fully encompasses the entire fancy image gallery... on the 2.0 version, the tab is only a line in height... very similar to what you would see if you clicked on the homes tab..

    furthermore, I am experiencing many page not found errors, even though the post is there... went from edit post -> view post and its still giving me the errors

    Try switching to the default theme and then back to inFocus and save your permalinks once more racerstodeath.
