    I've read the Support Forum and asked asked a few questions. Going from 1.6 to 2.6. Good with all except Portfolios. WIll I need to convert all of my applicable blog posts to Portfolio posts and then generate new shortcodes in order for them to display correctly? I can;t imagine that, but I I can't seem to think of a way to do it otherwise.

    I'm also confused between Portfolio Categories and Post Categories. Are they the same thing? I guess not? Is it problematic if they have the same names?

    Trying to think this through so I don;t do more work than I need to.

    Hello michaeldef,

    Yes you will need to create new portfolio posts.

    Or you can keep using your regular posts and use our blog_grid shortcode to display them and just call them portfolios since they look the same way.

    The differences between portfolio categories and regular categories are that portfolio categories to not display in the search or archives.

    (1) Ok thanks. I tried the blog_grid shortcode to display them, but the thumbnails and text were sized differently than how Portfolio (or version 1.6) sizes them. I imagine there's a way to change that? What is the reason for having both types of posts. I'm asking so I know when to use one vs the other.

    (2) I also can't seem to determine when/if I should use a Portfolio post to create a gallery page, or use a Page like I used to in V1.6. ??

    (3) Rgarding Portfolio Categories and Post Categories. I guess they aren't necessarily the same, i.e., does the system automatically generate the same list of categories in each?

    (4) Lastly, when creating a Portfolio post, under Intro Options, I can't get the title to say anything other than Portfolio, unless I select Custom Raw Html or Completely Disable Intro. How do I remedy. When I disable, the title always shows up underneath the portfolio fullsize image on the post page. How do I remedy?

    Btw, you guys give great support and response.

    1. It's all about separation of content. If you have content that you want to be separated from your regular posts such as products, projects, events, etc etc, then you would use the portfolios.

    You can change the thumbnail sizes in Dashboard -> your theme -> Image Resizing and the titles with this custom CSS,

    h2.post_title { font-size: 20px !important; }

    2. It's whatever you want to do.

    3. No, they are different.

    4. I would go with the custom raw html option. You can insert whatever you need and if you want to display a title and teaser text then you can add this,

    <h1 class = "intro_title">Title</h1>
    <p class = "teaser">Teaser text</p>
