updated version vs. previous changes

  1. Working with the AWAKE theme sure beats sleeping at night!

    Here is my issue:

I can't wait to update to your latest version. BUT I already made a lot - and I mean A LOT - of small changes in various files... converted english strings into german, added / extended several shortcodes, fit the "piecemaker" onto the homepage and some other things I don't even remember...

Any suggestions how I could update without losing all my changes (and most of my marbles)?

When I update, will I find comments oder markers in every file to recognize what has been altered or added? Given this, I could compare every new file to my earlier saved ones and replace everything manually.

Or is there some kind of extended changelog showing which parts of your code are new?

I also worry about possible future editions and changes (that will undoubtedly contain even more marvelous features) - will I have to repeat the above process indefinitely?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi dumbledore,
Glad to hear you're liking the theme.

Attached to this post is the detailed changelog that we keep for all files and line #'s that changed in the most recent update to Awake. For future updates I'd recommend keeping an internal changelog of the changes you make to the template.

  3. Exactly what I was looking for - complete with filenames and lines - thank you so much.

And yes, I'll keep a log from now on (if only I had thought of it earlier)...

Something else. Small issue, I don`t know if it even can be called a bug: When I try to insert "wpmaps" (showing a google map) into one of the horizontal togglers (which are so tastefully crafted, it knocks me out), the map will show up correctly only in the first tab. All other tabs will mess the map up - target is off center, parts of the map remain grey. But you can't have everything, right?

    Hi dumbledore,

Glad to hear the changelog worked for you.

In regards to the 'wpmaps' issue, there's probably some conflict with the javascript. If you find a solution definitely let us know.
