TimThumb on WP 3 Multisite

I have installed the Awake theme on a WP site that is on a Wordpress 3.0 Multisite setup.

I am able to get all aspects of the theme working properly, however on this particular site, I am unable to get TimThumb to properly display the slider images and also the gallery shortcodes do not allow galleries to load.

I saw the few items on troubleshooting Tim Thumb on the Themeforest page for your Awake theme, but I am unable to get the images to load for me?

Is there a bit of copy and paste code that you could provide that would easily make the theme work on Wordpress 3 multisites, that are sub-domains? I see that it is something with the path for the images being different on a multisite setup.

I can imagine myself using your theme on many sites with this same type configuration in the future due to the rising popularity of network blogs, so it would be nice to be able to easily edit this, or even have something in the admin settings for the theme that asks if the site is a multisite site or not (or could just automatically tell) then the theme edits the image paths accordingly, if that is possible to add somehow, it would be cool.

I would happily provide an admin login / FTP for you to take a look if need be.

Thanks for your help, your themes are amazing and I look forward to buying the next one you make too..

    Hi monsterdevelopment,

In the update to Awake now available through the "Downloads" tab in your ThemeForest admin panel we've included support for TimThumb and Wordpress 3.0 Multisite.

Download the update and lets us know if it resolves this.

Woops, one last thing I noticed. One the fancy images shortcode, all the thumbs load and if you click on the first image in a group, then that first image loads in the lightbox as it should, but the second image, third, fourth, etc. all do not load and give 404 error when clicking on the thumbnail. The thumbnails do load.

The second, third, fourth, etc. are all trying to link to add rel= to the end of current URL and therefore brings up 404 error.

The first image does not add this rel= to the end of the link. It has the actual image path as the link and the image loads.

The Galleria code and Slider are working like a dream now for me.

    Thanks again.

    Hi monsterdevelopment,

Glad to hear the update resolved your TimThumb and Wordpress 3.0 Multisite issue.

In regards to the [fancy_images] shortcode, replace the following file on your server with the one attached to the .zip at the bottom of this post:

    It should resolve this.

I’m looking for a safe version of timthumb (vs. 2.8.2-2.8.7) for wp multisite. As i read this discussion, http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/timthumb-on-wp-3-multisite, i thought you might supply a timthumb multisite version with this theme. Is that correct? Which version? I’ll gladly pay theme cost for this timthumb multisite edition. Thanks.

    Best wishes

Thanks for the reply :-). Could you tell me if you have made changes to the file timthumb to make multisite work, or did you make adjustments to the theme files?

    Hi anonymous,

We made changes to the theme files to make TimThumb compatible with WordPress Multisite, we don't make any changes to the core code of TimThumb.
