    our client has a simple site based on Construct theme (1.3) made by some third party company few years ago. Our client no longer have contact with the company that made the webpage, but the site had some issues with security and it looks like this is somehow connected with the theme (logs suggest some activity around construct theme files [1]). One security resercher even sent us a link to an exploit (not sure if I should post this, but this is public on github, so it's not like a secret 0day on some darknet forum) [2] for this theme. Now, my questions:
    - we have version 1.3, what's current version of the theme?
    - is this a known issue? and is it fixed? I hope both are "YES"
    - do we have to buy the theme again for this site? or is this somehow still supported?

    [1] ie. wp-content/themes/construct/lib/functions/core.php

    Best Regards.

    Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but no one from MSMW staff have responded to this forum or email contacts for over 8 months. The MSMW website's theme download mechanism has since stopped working.

    Regarding your question, this bug was fixed 2 years ago. Since you cannot download a MSMW theme you would need to replace the theme or move to BackStop Construct which is a community fork of the MSMW Construct theme updated to the latest WordPress and PHP. See . Upgrade your theme, plug-ins, WordPress in that order.

    For the techies, you can participate in the community at

    Note: Always make a backup of your current system before upgrading your theme in case you want to roll back.

    Manual upgrade options are:
    a) Copy the new folder contents into the old folder; OR;
    b) Rename the old folder, upload the new folder; OR;
    c) Delete the old folder, upload the new folder

    I tend to use option b.

    Remember to download a copy of the old theme folder first as a backup. If you upgrade using option b or c you will need to copy your skin folder and css file from the backup theme copy folder to the new live theme folder.

    FYI - BackStop themes is a community-based support environment for the now defunct MSMW themes. Please keep in mind that support is now community based so please be patient. None of the money you spend / have spent on MySiteMyWay goes to the new community-based support environment which was established and is maintained by OnePressTech Pty Ltd.

    If you choose to continue with BackStop Themes you can email to be added to the BackStop Themes newsletter....welcome to the new community :-)

    Kind regards,
