Teaser text will not change or update

I have a new download of Echelon that I just purchased this week so it must be the newest version. The default teaser text will not change when I try to customize with my own text on the individual page. It should be an easy, simple process of writing my text and clicking "upload". Yet, the new text will not "take". I enter text in the visual WYSIWYG editor and then click "Update" under the "Publish" section, and the text saying "This is the default teaser text option. You can remove or edit this text under your "General Settings tab. This can also be overwritten on a page by page basis." That last sentence is wrong, as it will not overwrite.

The only plug-in I have installed is buddypress and bbPress. I deactivated bbPress and it helped with nothing. I cleared cache and etc. None of the teaser texts will "take" or update when edited on ANY of the pages. What gives? Can anyone please help?

    Hello tcdude,

    Let's try the following,

    1. Deactivate all plugins.
    2. Create a backup and completely delete the theme from your theme folder before downloading / uploading a fresh copy.

If your still having issues then send us a private message by clicking on the "PM this user" link beneath our usernames.

Before I uninstall and reinstall, another Q. I believe there is a chance that I have been trying to change the text for the teaser texts in the wrong fashion. I can not find anywhere how to do that on an individual and page by page basis. Do you have a tutorial or guide on how to change the teaser texts on individual pages, so that I can eliminate my own stupidity as a possibility before anything else? Please advise, and thanks.
*NOTE*- This has been resolved. For some reason the "General Page Options" tab was not expanding. Everything else was working fine. Because I did not know that is where the teaser text was located, I could not make changes to it nor find it. Logging out and logging back in for some reason fixed the issue and the General Page Options are now expanding/collapsing fine. Such a ridiculously simple issue. Thanks for the help.

Elliot, 1 other quick Q. I know this is not relevant to the title of this post, but I know you'll be checking in on this thread... if I want to have the text in my site be black versus the dark grey, is there a guide or tutorial on how to do that? Not for the teaser, but the general font on the site. Thanks again...

Glad you got it sorted. You can change the font colors in the skin, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Creating_a_new_Skin#General_Typography.

Go ahead and read over our documentation.
