When I use the tabbed slider and set a vimeo or youtube video, the software doesn't create a thumbnail. How do I get an appropriate thumbnail?

Hi lekun,
Currently the tabbed slider doesn't support thumbnails for Videos, instead the theme uses a default movie clip icon.

The movie clip icon doesn't show up on mine. http://www.bluegrassbeat.com/weddings/

Yeah, that would be fine, but I am getting a missing image icon, not a stock video thumbnail. Here is the thumbnail code:
src="http://www.oetc.dev/wp-content/themes/oetc/lib/scripts/thumb.php?src=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6uLbazyVu8&w=64&h=45&zc=1&q=100" />
(this is from a local dev environment, so you can't visit in on the internet) but you can see the thump script is trying to grab the youtube video for the thumbnail, not a stock image.

@lekun & @bluegrassbeat
Replace the following file on your server:
wp-content/themes/awake/lib/functions/sliders.phpWith the one in the .zip file attached to this post.
It should resolve this.

Actually, can we get the PSD for default_movie_thumb and default_movie_thumb_small.
There is almost zero contrast with the included picture, and I am looking on a color corrected monitor. Most of my site visitors are on junky systems.

@Webtreats - Yep worked for me too as this was my question...
@lekun - Agree it does seem to blend with the background, but at least the broken image links have gone!!!

Hello goldeneye,
Could you post the code you used to display the slider and the image name that is not showing?

@Elliott
Not sure what information exactly you need.
Code: admin panel Slider / floating / disable read more / no description
I've tried both variation of image name: numeric image name and text image name. Both variation creating this issue.
I've used the full valid path name to the image http://www.mysite/wp-contents/uploads....
The other thumbs which the script must creating based on the same valid path names but other images sizes (partial gradient & partial staged is working).

goldeneye: I have the same problems with all shortcodes that creates a link to that thumb.php file. It seems the thumbnail generator is broken for some reason. You will get exactly the same problems when using fancy images for example, which I just reponded to another post about.
Hope it can be fixed soon!

I'd like to swap in a thumbnail that I create for videos instead of using the default. Is this possible? I guess I could swap in a replacement if there is only one video, but I would like to use more than one video thumbnail on the home.

Hello nashh,
This currently is not a feature but may be updated in the future. If you want we can do a jQuery fix to switch the images out after the page loads but this is only useful if your videos do not change very often as you will have to change the code each time you update the video.

Hello sprayglide,
Are you trying to upload your own icon for movie slides?
Posted 6 months ago # -
Yes, anything would be better than the grey movie icons
