Swithing Call To Action Buttons

  1. I have a client that is wanting the Orange skin for Myriad in the Elegance theme. I have accomplished most of this by inserting the appropriate backgrounds and such that I borrowed from the Myriad theme.

    The three things I can't seem to get is the almost black bar under the slider along with the Call To Action area.

    Is it possible to get that back bar with the nav buttons under the slider?
    On the Call To Action I can't seem to add a background overlay to darken the area.

    Also (and the mot important issue) is the button in the Call to Action. In Myriad it seems to have a vignette overlay on the button that tones down the orange of the Orange skin (#e98813). Is there a way to recreate the Myriad buttons in the Elegance theme?

    You can see the two here:

  2. Let me adjust this a little on the button question. I would like to make ALL the buttons like the Myriad buttons but leave the skin color (orange) the same.

    Hello MichaelAlbany,

    You can find the CSS for the buttons in /wp-content/themes/myriad/shortcodes.css.

  5. Hey Elliot, I was wondering if the code for the elegance theme was broken because I inspected the ".call to action" button and it appeared in the <style> tag in the HTML source and when I tried to edit the CSS properties of that element, no change occurred. Please let me know if this is the case.

  6. To give you more to understand my plight here I am including a side by side of images for the Myriad Orange along side the Elegance Glass to see what I am trying to do. These screenshots are from the MSMW site, not mine.

    The Rea More and Callto Action buttons clearly have some type of sprite overlay on them that the Elegance CtA button does not. However the CSS you refer to shows a call to the same PNG for both themes. I opened both PNGs in Photoshop and could find no differences. The CSS for both themes is identical as far as I can tell.

    This is what I can't seem to change no matter what I do to the CSS.

    myriad on the left, Elegance on the right, but you know that. ;-)

    On a side note, my clients feel that the more styled button that is in Myriad, is 'more elegant' (their words) than the solid button that is in the Elegance theme and asked me to tell the programmers to "notch up the Elegance theme by updating the buttons to those in Myriad."

    You can find the gradient used as the background around line 701 in the style.css file,

    #slider_module_inner .partial_gradient_slide .slide_content, .wp-caption, .fancy_table th, .colored_box, .fancy_box_title, .titled_box_title, .pullquote4, .dropcap4, .tabs_button a.current, .button_link, .fancy_button, #searchsubmit, #submit {
        background-image: radial-gradient(at center top , rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2), rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.6));
        border: medium none !important;
    }

  8. That did it!

    You should add this type of formatting to all the themes as an option. it does add a certain something!
