I thought inFocus was amazing, and then came Awake... I am in tune with your relentless pursuit for perfection. I have invested time in tweaking inFocus to fit my needs. I don't mind doing same for Awake but would appreciate some additional feedback from you.

Does Awake work with WP3 multisite capability? (tried it with inFocus but cannot see the inFocus options menu on hte left any longer when I log into the subsite)

Does Awake support the native WP3 "Menus" for main menu bar? (looks like inFocus does not support this)

From reading the feature lists and comparing them, here is what I see the differences:

    AWAKE has:

    - Option to display jQuery Slider on any page (not just Home Page)

    - Support for WP3 native navigation menus

    - Lots more styles (31 vs. 10)

    - Many more shortcodes (70+ vs. 34),

    - SubPage navigation widget

    - Multiple instances for widgets

    - Social bookmarking with Bit.ly support

    - Nested comments

    - Related and popular post modules

    INFOCUS has:

    - More stable (went through its rounds of bug fixes so I expect it to be more stable, but I expect this advantage to fade in time)

As far as subjective design decisions are concerned, here is my subjective take:

    AWAKE:

    - More prominent menu bar and social networking links at top but more prime real estate between logo and social links is potentially unused.

    - Better visual feedback when hovering over main menu items.

    - Buttons have more refined detail and appeal.

    - Better legibility and contrast.

    - Interesting implementation for search with the hover effect on the search icon but I don't think is as usable.

    - Gradient on Cufon text distracts from legibility

    - Better, understated buttons for "Read more" in the Blog section.

    - Amazing felxibility for gallery display, and the galleria functionality.

    INFOCUS:

    - More immersive header and full width intro (probably the trade-off being that it can only be included on the Home Page).

    - Better search box (is this search box widget still avaialble in Awake?).

SO, TO SUMMARIZE... Is my understanding of the above correct? Would you add anything as I am trying to assess the differences between inFocus and Awake?

Below are the answers to your questions in the above posts:

    - Yes, Awake 1.2 supports WP3 multisite capability.

    - Yes, Awake 1.2 supports WP3 menus.

    - Yes, you can still use the standard wordpress search widget in your sidebar.

    - Yes, your summary sounds correct. I would add that we will be updating inFocus to include many of Awake's new features.

Thanks for the additional info. I would like to make a suggestion...

Obviously your designers are top-notch, with a very refined sense of design. There is one detail though that I have to keep tweaking. The color of the hyperlinks in most skins is so that text links are not apparent on a page.

Also, looks like themes generally are a tad dark; I assume they've been developed on Macs, which tends to render things brighter. On PC monitors, some of the gradient subtleties get lost.

Plese forward this feedback; I hope it will be considered for your theme updates or new themes.

One more detail on my nitpick... same goes for the submenu text color; the grey is very subtle, a bit too subtle to amke it "accessible" for general population (people with viion not as sharp or monitors that are not well caibrated). Just a bit more contrast may help a lot of viewers without taking away from the general elegant and artistic refinement of the skins. It would also match a bit better with some of the skins that have "punchier" colors.

At least my two cents. (and yes, I know, even so it still is the best WP theme this side of the Milky Way! :-)

How about the other way around?
I have the Awake theme fully functioning, using serveral build in features of the Awake theme.
What will happen with things as menu's, homepage and other things when I switch to Infocus?
    Any comments welcome!

    Hello ondernemerschool,

By default inFocus does not come with Wordpress menus and some of the awake shortcodes such as galleria and fancy_images. We have a bunch of quick fixes which offer this functionality though in this thread, http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/infocus-tutorials.

With the next update we will be converting inFocus and Awake to our new framework which will have the same feature set across all themes.
