    I need to put a slider or slideshow as my page background for the home page only. I can't use supersized, since it, well, supersizes the slides -- I need them to remain their exact dimension.

    I have the slideshow as both a shortcode and php as follows:

    [slideshow_deploy id='17']

    <?php do_action('slideshow_deploy', '17'); ?>

    I have a child theme and can get the slideshow to show, but not in the background. It covers all content except the menu and my absolute positioned logo.

    I feel like I have all of the pieces, but just can't get the slideshow in the background where it belong. Help please?

    This is the site I am working on:

    and this is the drupal site I am trying to emulate. I need the slideshow to look like this (which is does), and to be in the background:

    any help is greatly appreciated!

    Solve it -- just needed to set z-index: -99999;

    Feeling dumb now, but maybe it will help someone else.

    BTW, I used the Slideshow plug in from StefanBoonstra to create the slideshow -- worked a treat…
