Single Post on Homepage?

   Is there way to pull just the single most recent blog post onto the homepage?

   Hello,

   Go to the "Homepage" section of the theme options panel. There, enable the field named "Display Blog Posts". Checking that option will display your blog posts on your homepage. You can set the number of posts to display by navigating to Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading and setting a number in the "Blog pages show at most" field.

   Hi, but if I set the # of posts to 1, it only shows 1 on the blog page.

   I'm having trouble with this issue as well ( want 2 posts on homepage and 6 on blog page). Is there a special method for inserting blog shortcode on a blog page? I am currently using the shortcode generator on the page that I have set as my blog page, but when I generate the code no changes take place? Thoughts?

   If you already have it set as the blog page then using a shortcode inside is not going to work. Go ahead and take off your page selection in Dashboard -> your theme -> Blog.
