Problem with footer on blog page and upgrading to WP 3.0.1

   Hi Webtreats,

   I am suddenly having a problem on the footer section of my blog page. There is a big white box showing up. http://jeremyirons.com/latest-news

   Also, I haven't upgraded to WP 3.0.1 yet and I'm afraid to do so. Will there be problems with my site if I upgrade and will I lose any of the customizations I've made to the theme if I upgrade?

   I'm also finding that the problem with the footer is showing up on all pages where I have a sidebar included. So maybe there's a problem with the sidebar widget. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!

   Hello Wendy,

   I am not sure what is causing the problem but I am sure it is something with your sidebar. When looking at your site it appears there is a CSS conflict with the class '.inner' which is loading the 'sidebar_bottom.gif' as a background for your footer. This is the white image that you are seeing.

   By default I do not think this should be happening.. but to fix it we can try a quick CSS change.

   Open up wp-content/themes/infocus/footer.php and on line 9 you should see..

   <div class="inner">

   We will add a CSS style to take the background image off.

   <div class="inner" style = 'background-image: none;'>

   If you are comfortable with editing the files then go ahead and try this and let me know of the results.

   Hi Elliott,

   Thank you so much! That worked for a portion of it, but the very bottom of the footer still shows it where the site copyright info is. http://jeremyirons.com/latest-news

   I'm still curious though, is it a good idea to wait to update to WP 3.0.1?

   Glad to see you got it fixed Wendy. As to whether you should update or not I am not sure. I installed inFocus on 3.0.1 and didn't appear to have any problems.

   I will let some of our other staff help you with this question.

   Hey Wendy, sorry for such a late reply.

   I have been researching on WP 3.0.1. I think it would be okay for you to update. Just to be safe though make sure to create a copy of your theme folder and a backup of your database before continuing.
