Problem with Featured Images in Posts

resolved (9 posts) (2 voices)

  1. We have a website using inFocus. Whe currently have two posts with category "Events" that each have a Featured Image. On our Events page (, the 1st post includes both featured images. The 2nd post doesn't show any image.

If we disable either post, the other post shows fine. We have tried changing images, but that doesn't solve the problem.

We are totally perplexed. Any suggestions on what might be the problem would be appreciated.

    Hello mikeschumann,

Are you using our blog shortcode there? Surround your code with [raw] [/raw] tags.

  3. Here's the code for the Events Page:

    '<h1>Events & Promotions</h1>

    [blog_list thumb="medium" showposts="40" post_content="excerpt" category_in="7" pagination="true"]'

I tried putting [raw] [/raw] tags around the header but that didn't make any difference.

I'm totally baffled on why this isn't working.

    Any other suggestions?

  4. I did some further testing this evening and figured out what seems to be causing the problem.

The problem occurs if, and only if, EVERY post in the category being displayed on the blog page has a manual Excerpt set. If the Excerpt field on any one or more of the posts is empty, the posts are displayed correctly.

This appears to be an bug in inFocus or Wordpress, which needs to get fixed.

Please let me know if you have any difficulty reproducing this problem.

Note: I have temporarily eliminated the manual Excerpts on our website, so the page I referenced above is now displaying correctly. However the problem still exists.

    It should look like this,

    [raw] [blog_list] [/raw]

  6. Using the [raw] [/raw] tag around [blog_list] solved the problem on a desktop, but now the [raw] and [/raw] tags are visible on my mobile site (I am using WPTouch and the WPTouch shortcode plugin).

How do I fix this? Also, when are you going to upgrade the WPTouch shortcode plugin to support the latest version of WPTouch Pro?

    Thanks for the help.

Our framework has it's own responsive features now. You can set them up in Dashboard -> your theme -> Responsive & Mobile.

  8. I have very briefly played with the inFocus responsive capabilities. Two issues immediately jumped out at me that need to get resolved before I can switch from WPTouch:

    1. I only want to use the responsive feature with iPhones and Android phones, NOT iPADs or Android tablets, where my standard desktop site works great. It does not appear that inFocus lets me control that.

    2. I really don't like the primary menu on the iPhone responsive theme. I much prefer the WPTouch Menu button approach, which lets me create a separate mobile menu specifically tailored for the iPhone.

Are you planning to address these issues in a future release? Any idea when?
