I have also seen these forum topics -

    http://goo.gl/uLHCo

I tried to change the permissions to 777 and even tried to edit the thumb.php, But unfortunately they didn't help me solve this issue at all.

Please, I'll appreciate your assistance helping me to solve this issue,

p.s.- I use the Awake theme.

    regards
    Asaf

    Hello rashbis,

If possible then send us a link to your site so we can take a closer look.

This type of problem is usually because of the resize script. Make sure that your images are hosted on your own server and that the cache and thumb.php items have 777 or 755 permissions as seen in those other threads.

You can also try using both relative and absolute URL's to your images to see if they make a difference. Here is an excellent guide on troubleshooting the resize script, http://www.elegantthemes.com/troubleshooting-timthumb.html

    Hey Eelliot,

thank you for your fast reply :)

I've PM'd you a link to my site just like you've asked,

I'll go over the troubleshooting latter this week, and I'll try to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

    Thanks

Your images are giving me a 403 Permissions denied error,

    http://gadibook.com/wp-content/themes/awake/lib/scripts/thumb.php?src=http://gadibook.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/facebook-logo_op_668x251_op_640x240.jpg&w=126&h=90&zc=1&q=100

Go ahead and try the changing the permissions as instructed in my previous post to see if this solves the problem.

Both the cach folder and the thumb.php items were already changed to 777 permissions,

and unfortunately as you can see - still does not work!

    so what's next?

Who are you hosting with rashbis?

Go ahead and get in contact with your hosting provider and let them know that you are having some permissions issues to see if they have some special settings you need to set. It is rare but some hosting providers require a certain combination of permissions.

    Hey Elliott,

    Sorry for my late response,

But I did exactly what you've said - and I have contacted Hostmonsters' support team ( this is the hosting service I'm using for this site ), and they helped me to resolve this issue! just today!!!

The reason that the "Post Images" and "thumbnails" did not work was because - of the .htaccess file!!!! - how about that hah....

Here is a copy of the email sent to me from the support team -

"lines 194 and 195 of your .htaccess file are causing the problem with your images not showing up. This is what it looks like:

    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} http\: [NC,OR]
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} https\: [NC,OR]

These rewrite conditions are stating to block any query strings that contain http or https which is exactly what timthumb.php is using so these particular conditions won't work for you as is. I went ahead and commented out those two lines like so:

    #RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} http\: [NC,OR]
    #RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} https\: [NC,OR]

Now that I have done that your images are no longer forbidden and they show up fine."

And they dooooo work fabulously now!

Elliott - Thank you very much - I appreciate your assistance helping me to solve this issue :)

    Thanks
