    Hello,

I just got done with the site and checked it out in Internet Explorer. Somehow IE8 is forcing the top Navi bar to the top. Ive tried removing Plug-ins and Widgets and it still shows up.

I hate Internet Explorer. Do you have any thoughts on what could be causing this?

I have the same issue too.

The strangest thing is that the same page can load with the nav bar being in the wrong place and then you refresh the page and it displays properly, but you refresh again and it is broken again. It's randomly does so - you never know if it'll look right or will be broken.

I also tried viewing the site in IE8, but on a different computer - the same issue.

    Hello guys,

Just wanna grab some more information from you all..

What version of Awake are you using?
What operating system are you using?
Is your browser maximized or resized?
Do you have zoom set to 100% or something else?
Do you have the compatibility view on or off?

I haven't been able to reproduce the error yet but will let you all know when I see the problem.

What version of Awake are you using? 1.2
What operating system are you using? Vista
Is your browser maximized or resized? Not sure, what you mean by this. Check my screenshot.
Do you have zoom set to 100% or something else? 100%
Do you have the compatibility view on or off? I cant tell whether its on or off

This issue for me really only happens on the photo page. I removed all the widgets in the footer and I still get the issue.

Have you sean anything like this before?

    Hi Elliott,

You say: "I haven't been able to reproduce the error yet but will let you all know when I see the problem. "

It is tricky, as this bugs does not appear every time, but if you try just refreshing the page a number of times or going from one page of the site to another and you should be able to catch it.

Here is the data you asked for:
    1. What version of Awake are you using? --- AWAKE 1.2
    2. What operating system are you using? --- Windows7 64bit
    3. Is your browser maximized or resized? --- no, just normal. I also tried it on another computer with Windows7 and IE8 - same thing.
    4. Do you have zoom set to 100% or something else? --- 100%
    5. Do you have the compatibility view on or off? --- I think it is off, at least when I check for Compatibility View Settings, "Display All Website in Compatibility View" is NOT checked.

Exact same issue here. Seems to appear somewhat randomly as I can go to a page and have the page show perfectly, and then click on a nav link to another page that shows the error. Then I click back to the page that showed perfectly and the error is present.

I'd really like to get it figured as I chose this theme for my main site...

    HOLD THE PHONE
    -------------

I just tested with compatibility view checked for all sites and the error goes away. This is great and I see l'website perfectly... but isn't really a true fix as very few of my clients (or potential clients) would have any idea about what the heck compatibility view is or how to adjust it.

Granted, IE just simply ALWAYS sucks. But there's gots to be a fix yo.

    HELP!

I wanted to follow up on getting the fix for this Issue from the Webtreats.

It is a significant issue, since according to a number of sources IE remains to be THE MOST COMMONLY USED BROWSER. About 60% of users in Internet apparently use IE browsers. And IE8 in its turn is the most popular one among IE family.

I'm asking for an urgent attention to this issue, as it makes websites using this theme not display properly for a very large number of viewers.

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for your patience.

This issue was tricky to debug as it happens very sporadically.

In the end we believe that the IE png fix we use for Awake was the culprit.

Replacing the file below with the one attached to this post and then clearing your browser cache should resolve this:

    wp-content/themes/awake/lib/scripts/custom.js

Incredible.. I was just having this problem myself..
Before I found this thread though, I actually got around it (I think) by enclosing the main_navigation div inside a new div which I absolutely positioned within the header container but just after the inner div of the header.

Since I've made some changes to my custom.js I'll leave mine as is, but will remember where to go if I have problems in the future..

    Hello
I changed the custom file and I cleaned the cache, but it has not worked. Now I have the compatibility on and wait to see if it works.

    Dear Webtreats and Support guys,

Thank you very much for taking time to fix tricky issue. The new CustomJs file does seem to resolve the issue with the Navi Bar. Relief! :)

I however now have another tiny issue with my Navi Bar in IE8 - the Navi Bar jerks left-to-right whenever I go from one page to another. It is a very small movement, but still noticeable. Here is my link:

Any ideas what could be causing that and how to fix it?

@goldndog, yes go ahead and use webtreats fix and then send us a link to the page so we can see what is causing your headings to disappear.

@hanazair, I see what you mean. Not really sure what could be causing it. Have you done any customizations?

So it does not confuse other users I went ahead and deleted your posts goldndog.

The problem was that the custom.js file was uploaded via the wordpress upload function and not via FTP. For some reason this was corrupting his file so to other users make sure you upload via FTP.

Let us know if you have anymore problems goldndog.

I just used this to fix an IE9 issue with the same thing. Also, my titles on the home page sliders were not working, again only for IE. Since updating the custom.js the teaser text works, but the titles on the slider don't and they no longer work in Firefox 6.01 either.

    I'm using Awake 1.3

Elliott, I have been away working on a number of things, but it is still a problem on IE. My web site is http://www.beyondthebedroomevent.com. You can see that my register button is small with no lettering in it on IE, but there for every other browser under the sun. There is also text that is missing.

    I am using Awake 1.3.

Try updating cufon by downloading it from this site, http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/, and then upload it into /wp-content/themes/awake/cufon-yui.js to overwrite the old one.

There isn't a cubon-yui.js file in that directory. I did find one further in lib/scripts. Is that the one to replace?

ok. So, I actually followed your directions and it worked!

    Thanks.
