    Hello,

I currently have a page set up as a blog through the Admin>Modular>Blog settings and a second page that uses the short code to act as another Blog (but will display posts for a different category) and there is a difference between the two. Through the admin page, the posts are displayed divided and through short code, the posts are in one long list with nothing separating them. I would like to have this second page displayed just like the other, i.e. divided sections for each post.

Did I miss a step when using the Short code generator?

    Hello jcm82991,

Are you wanting them to display in two columns? If so then you'll want to use our blog_grid shortcode and specify that your using two columns like so,

    [blog_grid column = "2"]

    Elliot,

Thanks for the quick reply! The two columns code did not do the change.

To make it easier to explain, I have attached two images. the first image is using the blog shortcode
    This is the code that I am using on that page: [blog_grid column="1" showposts="5" post_content="full" category_in="3" pagination="true" disable="image,meta,more"]
and the second one is how it looks when I used the Blog settings in Modular with the same content. I would like use the blog shortcode to make something similar to this.

    Thanks,
    Jake

It looks like the only difference is the post meta correct? You are currently disabling it in the shortcode, (disable=meta), try this instead,

    [blog_grid column="1" showposts="5" post_content="full" category_in="3" pagination="true" disable="image,more"]

If that's not working for you then go ahead and send us a link to your blog page and the page where your using the shortcode.

Also, you can insert the shortcode with our generator, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php?title=Using_the_Shortcode_Generator, it will let you customize all of the options before inserting it into the page.

That did add the post meta back but I am trying to get the listing styles to match.

Here is a link to blog page (Parties) http://atmyuniversity.com/UniversityofCincinnati1/parties
Here is a link to the page with shortcode: (Parties2) http://atmyuniversity.com/UniversityofCincinnati1/parties2

On the first link, the posts are divided and on Parties2 the posts are not divided. I would like to get Parties2 to look like Parties (Blog). I've tried both Blog types (List and Grid) in the Shortcode generator (which is very nice by the way) and neither will give the same look as Parties (Blog).

Sorry for the confusion, I probably should have given links to get begin with.

It looks like it's using a fancy_layout. I'll move this to feature requests and we'll look into adding this feature to the blog shortcodes as well.

Is there any way to make the change myself in the code or is this something that I will have to wait for an update? If so, how long do changes like this take to roll out?

I'm only asking because I purchased this theme with the idea that blog pages would like like my Parties (Blog) page.

Thanks for all of the help!

I took a look at it but it was getting pretty complex. We'll see about adding it in a future update.

    Elliott,

I was wondering if there was anything new regarding this?

    I have found that the Parties page goes main_inner > post_grid blog_layout1 > post-#
    While the Parties2 page goes main_inner > post-# > entry > post_grid one_column_blog > post-#

To get them to look the same, I need to remove the first post-#, entry and change the shortcode to output blog_layout1 and not one_column_blog, but I am unsure as to how to do this. Is their anyway an easy Page Template could do this modification?
