Making Construct properly Responsive

  1. Site:
Uses the Construct theme, with a child theme in order to customize the CSS while being updatable. I use the same child theme in another related site, which is why I went that route.
The menu on the left is a sidebar with a jQuery Vertical Accordion Menu.
Yesterday, I looked at it on my iPhone. Some of my customizations, that look great on desktop, do not work so good on my phone.

I need to tweak the CSS so it looks equally good on mobile devices. I'm familiar with Bootstrap. What is Construct using, and do you have some prepared documentation on how to customize things in a way that is consistent with the way the rest of the theme is doing it?

    Hello jarrowwx,

We don't use bootstrap. If you need to do CSS customization then your child theme style.css file would be good. You may need to use the !important override in some areas.

  3. Is it a custom responsive css framework, or is it based on something I can read up on and learn how to use?

It's custom. You can read up on CSS tricks or W3C to learn basic CSS.

  5. I already know CSS. I was hoping you used a standard framework so I could have a "pattern" to work from. That way I was not re-inventing things in my CSS that are already in your CSS, if you know what I mean.
