Making a Plugin work with Awake Theme

    I purchased the plugin "Event Calendar Pro" and I installed it correctly, but its not looking correct according to the theme. In the settings there is a box for "theme settings" that allow you to add code that says:

    "Some themes may require that you add extra divs before the calendar list to help with styling. This is displayed directly after the header. You may use (x)HTML."

    Do you know what I can add in there to make it fit within the style of the theme?

    This is what the page currently looks like:

    Hello edmondbina,

    I think we'll have to edit the stock template that it provides to use our layout. I sent you a PM, go ahead and email me your stock template and I'll take a look at it.

    YOU GUYS ARE SUPER AWESOME! If you have no plans to support calendar functions in your forthcoming templates, I am SURE that there are others (like me) who would GREATLY appreciate a similar zip file for the new releases... or even for InFocus RIGHT NOW.

    This is a HUGE benefit for me as my cobbled solution was less than perfect.

    Did you guys ever convert a template for inFocus as well? Mine seems off...everything starts right at the far left of the page with no space in between :/ That's my final issue to resolve and the site is ready to go! Thanks!

    Do you replace the template files with the ones you provided in the zip file?

    Hello brandtaylor313,

    Yes you need to replace the default templates with the ones in the zip. Each theme has different layouts and ID's / classes so you just need to change these in the template files to make them work.

    @DMaxPWR, As Ruderic says go ahead and send us a PM and we'll work together on getting some templates for inFocus as well. When we have something satisfactory we'll upload it here for everyone.

  12. Once again I am amazed by the support from you guys.

    I bought this plugin for WordPress a few minutes ago and quickly noticed the weird setup through inFocus. There was no support from the makers of the plugin, but within a 3 minutes search here I managed to find the answer.

    Thanks :)

    Your welcome mp3dk, glad to know your enjoying the support. Plugin compatibility is something we are really working hard on and I think you will be pleased when the new framework comes out.

    Hello obismarck,

    These files were for inFocus 1.6. Go ahead and delete them from your theme folder and check your site again.

    If your still seeing issues then PM us a Wordpress login and we'll take a look.

    Sorry for the late reply guys.

    Here are some files that should work with our new framework. (infocus 2.0+ / Awake 2.0+ and the rest of our themes).

    1. Download the zip file.
    2. Extract the contents to find a folder called "events".
    3. Upload this folder into /wp-content/themes/[your_theme]/

    Let us know if they work for you okay.

    Sorry about that obismarck,

    Open up /events/gridview.php and on line 9 you should see this,

    jQuery('body').addClass('full_width');

    Change it like this,

    jQuery('body').addClass('full_width').removeClass('right_sidebar');

    No, i wish to show the sidebar. So this works fine for me:

    on line 3: remove_action( 'mysite_after_main', '' );

    on line 9: jQuery('body').addClass('right_sidebar');

    Thank you very much!!!! You guys are very fast!

    Hi Elliott,

    I'm having a similar issue. I want to use Awake 2.0 with Events Calendar Pro 2.0. I've uploaded the files above, but it still doesn't look quite right. I'd like to not see the sidebar for the calendar - but it is being shown (even after trying your fix to gridview.php). Also, the title of the calendar view page is of the first event, not 'Calendar'.

    I know you are obligated to help with support regarding third party plugins, but I thought you could give me a few hints.

    Site: http://zischina.com/calendar/

    Thanks!

    Hello mat4020,

    With these files, http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/making-a-plugin-work-with-awake-theme#post-27233, it should be displaying full width by default. Go ahead and download / upload one more time to take off any customizations.

    Hi Elliott,

    I've redownloaded the files and replaced the ones on the server. However, I'm still having issues. If you look at http://zischina.com/calendar/ you will see that the calendar looks great and is full page, but the sidebar is pushed under the calendar. Also the very bottom of the footer is messed up.

    Any more ideas?

    Matt

  24. I am also having this issue since upgrading to ECP 2.0. Before I switched the events.zip fix worked fine but now it no longer works. I am using infocus theme. Are there any solutions yet?

    Posted 6 months ago #
  25. As I was looking at the code for ECP 2.0 I relized they no longer call "events". I renamed the "events.zip" folder I downloaded here and changed it to "events-calendar-pro" and it seemed to fix my theme break for the most part. I still have issues with buttons floating where they shouldn't be but this should get you halfway there.

    It looks like with 2.0 you don't need to use the templates. Try this, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Events_Calendar_Pro#Events_Calendar_Pro_v2.0, and let us know if it works for you.

  27. Hi - I too had the same problem with ECP 2.0 using Awake 2XX and Elliott's fix does sort out the sidebar issue. Any ideas on the footer though and how to make it compatible with the skin? It currently defaults to a white background. Thanks.

  28. Sorry - please scrap the above - oversight at our end. The fix works great. Thanks Elliott
