  1. I have two websites that I need to upgrade from Awake 1.3 to Awake 2.9, and I can't figure out how to do it. I need to hire someone to help me with the upgrade. Any recommendations?

    Hello russpond,

    See here, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Updating_Awake_and_inFocus_to_2.0.

You'll need to reconfigure your theme settings. We don't offer any extra services and I don't know of anyone that I can recommend.

If your stuck somewhere then just post here in the forums and we'll be with you shortly.

I don't think you need to hire anyone. I did the same update from 1.3 to 2.9. Here is what I did.

    1. Open up tabs in your browser with the following settings pages, Home page, slider and general settings. This is so you can copy and paste the links and content to your 2.9 settings. Do this in another browser and set it aside (firefox)
    2. login to wp-admin via another browser. (chrome)
    2. Navigate to themes and change the theme to one of the default WP themes
    3. FTP to this directory /public_html/wp-content/themes
    4. change the name of the awake folder to 1-3awake that way if you need to go back you can
    5. copy the new version of awake to the themes folder make sure it is named "awake"
    6. return to themes and activate the awake v 2.9 theme
    7. Go to awake theme settings
    8. Go through each setting page and copy over the links and content from your pages you left open on the other browser.
    9. Set any default settings like page layout etc as necessary.

That should get you up to 99% functionality It should fix your home page, slider, logo and favicon

Note: Depending on how you have your menu system ie category based or custom menu, you may need to rebuild your menu, If you have a custom menu you should be okay, if you manage it via the category settings page in the old theme then you will need to rebuild it.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck!
