Issue with "Spread the word : Twitter" when post accent has an apostrophe (')

   Hello,

   I was tweeting on our new website with your great template... And wanted to tweet one of our messages called "La minute d'Act One". To my surprise, it's impossible because the apostrophe isn't recognized (I see it in the code appearing in the bottom of the web navigator) and I access with twitter but the only words appearing in the twitter box are "La minute d" and nothing else (not even the link).

   All the other posts work fine, only those with an apostrophe in the title don't go through. Did you know of this problem ? I couldn't find anything about it in the forum. Any idea on how to solve it ? Quite to my despair, it's a series of videos and I can hardly change the name as they are shot and edited already... And well, you wouldn't want that in your template now, would you ? ;D

   Hello Elliott,

   Hum... Sorry to say but it's still not working out for me or for friends and collegues I've asked to try after reading your message. A post with the sign ' (apostrophe) can't be twitted with the bar "Spread the news".

   Can you actually tweet the post I've linked in my previous message (La minute d'Act One) with the Twitter icon in "Spread the News" ? On my side, we can't... :(

   What should I do ? There are apostrophes in english, so I don't think it's a localization issue per say...

   I can post apostrophes no problem, not really sure why it could be doing this for you Ecirb.

   When you say "Spread the News" do you mean the twitter widget in your sidebar or using tweets within the header teaser / footer?

   Hello,

   I'm not sure either. I checked with friends in other places, who have other computers and browsers and so far they all have the same bug as me : When we click on the "T" letter icon (first on the left) for twitter, in the icon bar underneath the posts (formerly "Spread the News" but I changed the text in Photoshop for French) and the post title has an apostrophe, the message showing in the Twitter box stops right before the apostrophe.

   For instance with this note : http://www.actone.net/animation/la-minute-dact-one-10-idees-sinon-rien/ (have you checked on my website with this note?)

   However, I've tried it from my iPad and it works... Do you work on PC or Mac ? I don't see why this would change anything but I ask just in case because I was so surprised it worked on the iPad!

   It's really not a big deal actually, as I don't have that many post titles with apostrophes (and could even manage not to have any in the future) and probably people sending tweets can use other tools that the social bar. I just mention it because you seem to be perfectionists and so am I ;)
