Hello phoenixartdesign,
The iOS problem is a known issue that we are working on. It seems to work fine on the iPad but not on the iPhone.
That's pretty interesting that it does not work on your friends mac though. What version of safari is he using? It could be that the issues are related.

He is surfing with a UMTS Stick on his Mac and uses Safari 5.1. So slow connection. But if he opens the page with Firefox, it works fine.
I tried to view the page on the iPad yesterday and it is not working as well.

Is he on a mac by chance? I'm on Windows 7 with Safari 5.1 and the menus display fine.
Posted 8 months ago # -
yes, he is on a MAC but like i said, uses a slow UMTS Internet Stick. I think the problem is connected to that.
Cause the dropdown works fine for me on my Mac/ Safari with a Highspeed Internet connection.

Alrighty, we'll see if we can get this fixed in the next update.

Hi phoenixartdesign,
Replace the following two files attached to this post through FTP on your clients website and then have them clear their browser/iPhone cache:
lib/functions/theme.php lib/scripts/custom.jsLet us know if this resolves the issue.

replaced the files and everything works great now. thanks for the great support!

FYI.
Using this fix, also made my menu issue in Safari go away.

Thanks.

Hi! Is this still the only way to fix the problem with the drop-down menus disappearing over the homepage animation when using Safari? The zip files posted are 5 months old and I"m not sure which theme they are for (or if they can be used on any of your themes). Please let me know if this is the only way to fix the problem and/or if these zip files are still the latest and greatest. Thanks!

If your using the latest version of our themes then you shouldn't have this problem. Go ahead and update, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Updating_your_theme.

Before I go through all that, I'm using Echelon 1.5. Has there been an update since then cause it wasn't that long ago that installed the update to Echelon 1.5...?
Posted 3 months ago # -
The latest version of Echelon is 1.9, I think 1.7 is where that was fixed but if your going to update you might as well use the latest version.

Ok, great - thanks!

Hi again! One thing I noticed when I just updated the theme... I had made an edit to the framework PHP file so that the Search box searched the whole site, not just blog posts. That change obviously got overwritten. With this site, that was the only change I made to a PHP file, but I have other sites that have a lot of changes. Am I going to somehow have to figure out all the changes I made to which files and make them again every time I update the theme? Seems like there's got to be an easier way to manage all that.... what do you suggest?

If your editing PHP files then you'll want to create a child theme, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Using_Child_Themes.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Ok, thanks! Once I create the child theme, when I next go to install a theme update, do I just follow the standard instructions and everything will just take care of itself? Just wanted to make sure that once the child is set up that the installation steps for updates is the same as usual: http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Updating_your_theme Please confirm? Thank you!
Also, just to further confirm - once the child theme is in place, I make any future PHP changes within the child, yes?
Lastly, in the PHP section of the child theme instructions it reads "We'll go through the process of setting your first child theme up and then we'll do a customization to add the facebook like button beneath your post meta so you can get an idea of how it works." -- do I have to worry about this Facebook thing?
Posted 3 months ago # -
1. If your using a child theme there is no extra steps in updating, just follow the instructions in the link that you posted.
2. Yes, though it depends on the customization.
3. That's just showing you an example of how you would do a PHP customization in the child theme.

Hi! Another question about the Child Theme instructions. Do I have to worry about the "Moving Files", "Redeclaring Functions," and "Actions & Hooks"?
For example, the most common change I make to my client sites is this one: http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Enable_Page_Searching. Maybe I should just find a plugin that enables full site search instead of changing the PHP? Seems like that might be easier. What would be REALLY great is if you guys could make your search function default to a full site search in your next release instead of just posts. More and more people are using WP for more than just blogs these days. Any chance of that happening? Or perhaps creating a second shortcode for full-site search? Thanks...
Posted 3 months ago # -
For this, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Enable_Page_Searching.
You just have to add that code inside the functions.php file of your child theme.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Right, but when creating the child theme, do I have to worry about the sections titled "Moving Files", "Redeclaring Functions" and "Actions & Hooks"? All of those instructions fall under PHP customizations, so I wasn't sure if I had to do those in addition to creating the child theme.
Posted 3 months ago # -
It depends on whatever PHP customization your doing. If it's just the enable page searching then no, you do not need to worry about them.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Ok, thanks. Do I need to customize any lines of the child theme code? I know I have to put in the theme name, but this says version 1.0 - should I change that the version I'm on? What about all the other fields?
/* Theme Name: Modular Child Theme URI: Description: Author: Author URI: Template: modular Version: 1.0 */ @import url('../modular/style.css');Posted 3 months ago # -
No, that is fine.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Ok, thanks. Still think it would be a huge benefit if your search short code searched a whole site without having to make these updates. I have not yet created a site that's just a blog as of yet... Thanks! :o)

Hi! I must be missing a step here - I created the child theme following the instructions you provide, but when I activated it, it messed up my site completely. This is what I dropped into my style.css file - what am I doing wrong?
/* Theme Name: Persuasion Child Theme URI: Description: Author: Author URI: Template: persuasion Version: 1.0 */ @import url('../persuasion/style.css');Posted 2 months ago # -

Hi! The attempt was made on http://www.roicg.com, but I abandoned the effort when it messed everything up.

Hi,
I have the same issue about the dropdown menu with dejavu on my ipad. IOS5 and last dejavu version (bought a few days ago).
I can't put you the link because site is in "coming soon" mode.
The menu text doesn't appear.
I could try to send you a pic if you want but the problem is exactly the same as phoenixartdesign into the first post.
Thank you for the support

Hi!
I just tried the online demo and it's working.. Are you using the latest version (2.0)? Also, there is any plugin that may be causing the conflict?

Hi,
Thank you Rochester.
I have tried to deactivate all plugins and reset safari. Same issue.
I'm using dejavu 2.0, with the default font. I have jus changed some colors into the steelblue css file and added this code lines into the custom css field of the theme settings :
#header { height: 128px !important; }
.header_links { position: absolute !important; top: 88px !important; right: 1px !important; }
#aec-calendar{font-size:13px;line-height:16px; font-family:"Arial" !important; }Posted 4 weeks ago # -
Send us a link when you go live and we'll take a look.
