    Hi there,
My images are not showing on my website pages on Internet Explorer 8. I am using the Awake theme. I have tried the Compatitbility mode, and they are still not showing up. However the images on my slider publish on IE8.

My site looks great in Firefox and Safari. My website is: http://www.mackoonline.com Please advise on how to fix it. Appreciate your help.

    Hello hurricaneharbour2,

Is there a certain page where they are not displaying? I checked your homepage and some of your others but images seemed to be displaying fine.

One thing I noticed was that cufon needed to be updated though. You can find instructions in this thread, http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/ie-9-breaking-blog-title#post-19850

    Hi there,

I have updated cufon as you have suggested and it still doesn't solve the problem.
Basically all pictures on the WP pages: About Richard, How it works, Sign up now do not show up in IE8.

Please let me know another suggestion. Thank you.

Besides the cufon issue those pages display exactly the same in firefox as well as in IE for me hurricaneharbour2.

I checked your HTML and did not see any extra img tags and you do not have any 404's.

Are you trying to add images inside your page content? If so then you can upload an image with the Wordpress media library and it will output the correct URL for you to use.

    <img src = 'IMAGE PATH' />

Also, your sidebar does not have any widgets set inside. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but you can set some widgets in Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets or you can take the sidebar off by choosing the "Full Width" template when editing your pages.

I think the ampersands (&) that you are using in your image pathnames are the problem.

When I tried to input characters in the HTML editor they were escaped and I'm not sure why. Try deactivating your plugins to see if they are the cause of this.

If you'll notice in IE, your second image is loading fine,

But all of the images after that have an ampersand inserted for some reason,

    Thanks for help

I didn't see the second image in IE...
I delete all & . and put 1 image without shortcode and 3 with framed center
all i see is the one without in ie8 and experience a weird scrolling...
If you tell all is ok on your screen, i will be happy : )

EDIT : i try to paste html code of the shortcode and specify width and height, it's ok...

There are still a few ampersands in there lomoseb,

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fmariages.sebastienboudot.fr%2Fblog%2Fmariage-beatrice-et-john%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

Try taking them out and rename your images to see if that fixes it.

Also make sure that you deactivate your plugins. I think I saw a caching plugin in there so you'll want to refresh it to see any changes.

all plugin deactivated and ampersands deleted, same problem. Can you tell if it's ok on your screen ?
Maybe it's a bug in my Windows 7 parralels desktop install on Mac...
Chrome and ff are ok on it...

Try replacing your [frame_center] shortcodes with this,

    <div><img class="aligncenter framed" alt="photographe de mariage à Lyon" src="http://mariages.sebastienboudot.fr/files/2010/10/coffrets-023.jpg" /></div>

I went ahead and changed one of them so just copy that format for the rest of your images.

    hmmmm...that kill the shortcode benefit... : )
I'll try to delete empty width and height in the shortcode to see what will happen

It could be that the <p> tag surrounding them is causing problems or the empty width and height parameters.

Using the code in my previous post should work though.
