How to put content above content

    How do I put <div id="one_fifth">content</div> above <div id="sidebar">content</div> at the startpage (just once)?

    I just want to do it once, by hardcoding. Inside wordpress, I want it to be as it is by default, where the sidebar pushes the "one_fifth"-divs to the left etc.

    I have 5 different business-areas, and I want to present them next to each other - ABOVE the sidebar.

    Anyone?

    Hello fakethis99,

    Are you wanting to do this just on your homepage? If so then open up /wp-content/themes/awake/index.php and on lines 49 - 50 you should see this,

    <div class="inner">
    	<div id="main">

    You can place your code inbetween those lines and it will display above the sidebar.

    If you want to do it on a specific page then you will have to create a page template.

    Looking at his website, I think he means he wants the five columns to spread full width across the page and for the sidebar to start lower down the page.

    I am not sure if the solution is going to be a "quick fix".

    First! Thanx for your fast responses! This support-site really works!

    @Elliot!
    Yes! Only the startpage. I will try this later today! Thank you!

    Yes! The five columns above the sidebar, but I want this tweak just for the startpage!

    @Elliot, @matthewlock

    It "kind of" works, but the sidebar floats to the left... how come?

    Not sure why that happened but changing this line,

    <div id="main">

    To this,

    <div id="main" style = "clear: both;">

    Should fix it.

    Hi again!

    Is it possible to make the background area transparent, so the background image is shown? I want the area from <div class="inner"> to <div id="main"> to be transparent, or with an opacity level of mabye 35-45?

    Again, I want this _only_ for the startpage.

    You can try editing this image, /styles/_shared/body_block.png and make it semi transparent. This is the image used for the background of your main content.

    Yea, I already tried that. But it also changes the background for the content in "main" and the sidebar etc. I want that to be "normal". Any other idéas?

    There are other ways but it would take quite a bit of customizations to the theme to pull it off. It would be best to hire a freelancer to help you customize this part fakethis99.

    Some good places to look for freelancers are freelanceswitch.com and jobs.wordpress.net.

    Good luck!
