Hello guys,
is there any way of replacing "GET STARTED" text on teaser button with my custom text?
I would like to leave that button there, but I would like it to read VIDEOS, not "get Started"
Thank you for your advise.

Hello,
This caption is embedded in an image. This is that image: http://themes.mysitemyway.com/infocus/wp-content/themes/infocus/styles/deep_blue/get_started.jpg
You can open the PSD of the theme, and edit the button. Then, replace the original file in the server with your new one.
Got it,
thank you so much Ruderic.

Hey,
I wanted to change the "Get Started" button on the InFocus theme too, but how do you replace the original file in the server with the new one?
On a separate note, how do you make the Portfolio page show different posts (as similar to the setup on the InFocus live preview structure)?
Thanks!
Hello edenshawhomes,
After editing the PSD to your liking you can export it as a new image called "get_started.jpg". Then you would need to use an FTP client and upload it into, /wp-content/themes/infocus/styles/[YOUR_STYLE]/get_started.jpg to overwrite the old one.
As for the portfolio page you would create more posts, assign them to your portfolio category, and then paste a link to your image in the "Portfolio Fullsize Option (required)" field when editing your post. Here is a quick tutorial on how to use it, http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/needed-step-by-step-instruction-on-using-the-portfolio-option.
Let us know if you need more instructions edenshawhomes.
Thanks Elliott,
I edited the PSD, named it "get_started.jpg" and uploaded it to our FTP client. Where/how do I updoad it to /wp-content/themes/infocus/styles/grey.css/get_started.jpg?
thanks again :)
You'll need to login to your server via FTP and then upload your image to overwrite the old one.
As for an FTP client filezilla seems to be pretty popular. Here is a tutorial on how to login to a server and transfer files, http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Using.
Hi Elliott,
I ldownloaded filezilla, and tried to quickconnect to my server (which i assume is edenshaw.com - my website). It will not allow me to connect to the server using the username and password I was provided on wordpress, nor will the anonymous logon work. What am I doing incorrectly?
Thanks!
Hello edenshawhomes,
It would be best to get in contact with your hosting provider and ask them for help in connecting via FTP. They should be able to give you instruction on setting up an FTP account.
Hello, I would like to change the teaser text button from Get Started to Contact Us using the red button. I downloaded paint.net and psd plugin, but I can not get it to work. Can someone please help me with this issue? I realize that the updated version of theme allows this button to be edited, but I am not ready to update theme to new framework yet. Thanks
Hello seanheis,
You'll need to edit the /infocus/styles/blue/get_started.jpg or whatever skin you are using and it should display automatically.
Hello Elliott, I do not know how to edit PSD files. I tried using Paint.net and was unsuccessful. Can you please edit the button for me to say Contact Us? It is the red button. Thanks
That would have to be considered custom work seanheis. It would probably be best if you updated to the latest version where you won't have to edit a PSD or hire a graphic designer to help you out.
Hi Elliott, I don't think this should be considered custom work for the following reasons:
1. This text should have been editable through the options panel when the theme was introduced since it was part of demo.
2. Here is a thread where another member of your support staff volunteered to make the exact change for another user. http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/changing-the-get-started-button-text-on-the-homepage#post-17785
I do plan to update the theme eventually. It is a big update though and I am not yet prepared to make the transition. My skill level is very low at the moment and that is a big reason why I purchase themes. So far I have purchased three themes from your company so I consider myself a loyal customer. Thanks
