How and where to change/translate some parts in inFocus?

  1. THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS ARE RELATED TO TRANSLATION (TO DUTCH):

    CONTACT FORMS:
Where can I change/translate the headings and other lines of data like 'leave a reply', 'Send me a message', 'Submit comment', 'Notify me of followup comments via e-mail'?

    SITEBAR:
Where can I change/translate 'Related Posts', 'Topics', 'Recent Comments'?

    SITEMAP:
Where can I change/translate 'All internal blog posts:', 'Categories'?

    FOOTER:
Where can I change 'Recent Posts', 'Pages', 'Archives' and 'Topics'?

    Thanks in advance!

    Frans

Let me know if you still want to translate stuff manually and I will point you to the necessary files.

  3. Hi Elliot. Thanks for the support so far. I viewed the comment.

However, I actually have two versions of the site. The english version (www.fransotterstudio.com) of the site is up and running. The dutch version (www.fransotterstudio.nl) is located on a different server. So I need to translate only the Dutch version (since that's my native language).

Do you have a different (quicker) approach? If not can you point me to the necessary files so I can translate them manually?

    Thanks in advance,

    Frans

FOOTER - just set the title in the widgets but for the default ones you can open up /wp-content/themes/infocus/footer.php/ and find the <h3> elements and change the text within.

SITEMAP - Open up /wp-content/themes/infocus/lib/includes/sitemap-content.php and find the <h2> elements and change the text within.

CONTACT - You should be able to set this as a widget and type in the title as you wish.

SIDEBAR WIDGETS - For the Recent Posts and Recent Comments widgets you can type in the title. For the popular post widget you would need to open up /wp-content/themes/infocus/lib/functions/widgets.php/ and find line 122 which should look like this..

    echo $args['before_title'] .'Popular Posts'. $args['after_title'];

Change 'Popular Posts' with whatever you want.

Let me know if this works for you fransotter.

  7. Hi Elliot.

About the translation of the CONTACT FORMS:

Instead of setting this as a widget I replaced/translated the following:

    /wp-content/themes/infocus/lib/functions/theme-functions.php
There I translated NAME * and SUBMIT in line 114 en 154

I am using WPML to translate my infocus site. WPML creates separate pages, one for each language, and when the foreign language is requested, wpml gives the foreign one (which cannot have the same name or slug as the original one).

How can I translate the homepage since inFocus forces me to use only one page for the homepage content, and if WPML translates it, then the foreign language homepage will have the same content as the original language.

Ex: 2 languages: English and Greek. I created a page in English named "homepage" and in the inFocus panel I chose "homepage" to be the page that gives the content to the home page of my site when the adress is http://www.mysite.com. Now with WPML I want to create "homepage-2" in another language and tell inFocus to use "homepage-2" when the language is Greek and the address is http://www.mysite.com/el.

Thanks Elliott, I am surprised I didn't find it myself, I thought I checked everything before contacting you. :o)
Do you have any idea how could I translate the Description of the slider's images? [and could you please tell me the exact dimensions of the slider pictures (both the full and the stage sizes) after they get resized by infocus?]
Thanks a lot for your prompt answer!

For the image sizes see here, http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/infocus-slider-image-not-aligned

The translation might be a little more difficult. We can try using Webtreats [wpml_translate] shortcode as seen here, http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/translating-teaser-text-with-wpml#post-18004

It that doesn't work for you then let us know and we'll take a closer look.
