Homepage help

   I ma using Wordpress 3.2.1 and am having difficulty setting up my homepage. I have my title and top navigation done. I have not done my slider yet. I am trying to insert the text under the slider. I type it in. I save it. They system says it is saved. I do not see the text when I go to the page and when I go back to edit the homepage the text (and format of no sidebar) is not there. What am I doing wrong?

   Hello randialterman,

   Your trying to edit the homepage content correct? Make sure that you do not have a static page set to display as your front page in Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading.

   Make sure that you are adding the text in the "Custom Homepage Text" field in Dashboard -> your theme -> Homepage, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php?title=Homepage#Custom_Homepage_Content.

   I am trying to edit the homepage. It is not static; I checked.
   I am adding text in the custom field. I am also selecting toggles such as changing the layout to not have a right column. I do select "save all changes" and the system shows it is working. But none of the changes show up and when I return to the homepage, none of my work is saved. I even asked a friend who is proficient at Wordpress and we are stumped.

   Your site appears to be under a maintenance mode plugin.

   It looks like you installed the theme wrong. If your uploading via FTP then you need to extract the zip and look around the folders for the "infocus" folder. That's the one that you need to upload.
