    Hello,
I've officially wasted too much time trying to figure out something obvious so I'm humbly asking for your expertise :)

Love the theme, but I'm setting it up for an organization that isn't looking to do much more than have a set of static pages that can be easily updated. The only problem is that I'm having trouble getting the homepage to be 'just a static page'.

I've tried a combination of everything I can think of without going custom commando on this thing but would imagine there is an easy way to get rid of content on homepage and not have a 'sorry but no post could be found matching your criteria..."? (see attached) I'm just trying to have the homepage content be what is above that but not have the error/search bar?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for helping me see the forest from the trees!!!

  2. Facher, I'm just an InFocus user and fan, but if you're just looking to display text on the home page, that is static and not going to change. Then simply go to InFocus on your Dashboard, choose HomePage and be sure your "Display Blog Posts" is not checked. Then simply create your text and paste it into the Custom HomePage Text.

What I did is simply created a Page that was a working page for me and I got the text to look the way I wanted, used the short codes and formatting that I desired. And once it looked ok, I copied it and pasted into the Custom Home Page Text in the InFocus control panel on the WordPress Dashboard. I then just deleted that page since ei t was duplicate content and just a temporary workspace for me to get the look I desired.

I'm not sure you're getting that error on home page, but perhaps if the Blog Display is toggled off, you'll be okay. Try it.

Another solution or idea to think about is just to create that static page the way you want it, and then use the wordpress settings to have it be your homepage.

  4. @Sozo - Good idea! But if you want to have the home page slider and control from within the InFocus dashboard panel, you'll want to put the content there.

Thanks for the tips MacMyDay and Sozo,

@facher, Leave the "Settings->Reading" section of your Wordpress admin panel untouched, with the same values as by default. In the "Homepage" tab of the theme options panel, we will find the options either to create the content there, or use a page as your homepage content. Take a look at this guide: http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php?title=Homepage#Custom_Homepage_Content
