General Page Options are not updating after transfer to new location

   I can add pages and change content and titles on existing, but the general page options cannot be changed or edited. The site works fine after transferring otherwise.

   Any clues on what to do!? Please HELP!

   I see some others have had similar issue and updated to 1.6 files. I just downloaded. Since I have customized some of the files I have started with using 1.3, I am trying to determine which files specifically I have to update. Can someone advise which specific files relate to page options and sidebars selections etc not updating? I think the issue is on transfer the upgrade to wp 3.01 based on what I have seen here.

   looks like I needed post-options.php updated in the admin directory
