Galleria picture orientation question

    Hello,

    Is there a way in Awake to create a gallery that contains both landscape and portrait pictures? I couldn't seem to get this working right. It seems like it will always try to make the pictures the size I'm specifying at the shortcode.

    Thank you for the assistance

    Hello faridwidjaya,

    Just to make sure, you are using the galleria shortcode correct?

    [galleria transition=fade height=350 width=600 autoplay=false]
    	full_link_to_image_1.jpg
    	full_link_to_image_2.jpg
    	full_link_to_image_3.jpg
    	full_link_to_image_4.jpg
    	full_link_to_image_5.jpg
    [/galleria]

    Yes, when I do that it forces all my images to be 350 X 600. What if I want a galleria that contains images that are 350X600 AND 600X350 ?

    Thank you.

    Hey faridwidjaya and Nick,

    I took a look at this and didn't see an easy way of customizing it. I will continue to tinker around with it in my free time but in the meantime consider hiring a wordpress freelancer.

    Thanks Elliott. I'm going to tinker around with it a bit too after I finish configuring the rest of my site. I'll post something if I have any success.

    Hi Nick, I have the same question and wonder if you've found a solution and if you would share it?

  9. I have just discovered that adjusting the size of the images really doesn't adjust the galleria viewer. I'm finding that the images are getting cut off or cropped....in what appears to be a 4:3 or standard format. I've got 16:9 wide images and can't get the full image to display:

    Hello MacMyDay,

    Try changing line 218 in /wp-content/themes/[your_theme]/lib/shortcodes/19-galleria.php from this,

    $out .= mysite_display_image( array( 'src' => $sc_matches[5][$i], 'title' => $title, 'alt' => $alt ) );

    To this,

    $out .= '<img src = "'.$sc_matches[5][$i].'" alt = "'.$alt.'" title = "'.$title.'" />';

  11. WOW!

    That worked. Not sure how or why, but large images are not cropped and orientation is displayed correctly --and I'm using InFocus.

    Thanks Elliott!

  12. Elliott - Another question on getting these php changes into child themes. So how do I add this code to a new file called 19-galleria.php in my child theme folder?

    This edit wouldn't be possible in a child theme. You'll need to create a changelog of your PHP customizations and redo them after the update.

    Hi,
    I'm having this problem with the gallery generated by the shortcode on Method theme. The main window of the gallery either:
    1) shrinks the whole photo height to fit the window but cuts off parts left and right (so the photo looks like a portrait but much narrower than the widow's width); or
    2) the photo fills the window completely, but is enlarged so that parts of the picture on all four sides are missing.

    - What is the ideal resolution for the gallery images? Right now I'm using 144.
    - How do I go about having full photos displayed with aspect ratios 4:3 and 16:9?

    Thanks!

    Hello EJS,

    Remove the enable = "image_crop" from the shortcode and make sure all of your images are the same size.

    @Elliot,
    That did not work. As you can see from the attache example1, I used the same 3 photos from Fancy_Images in my Galleria to make sure they are the same size. The Galleria window, however, cuts off parts of the photo on both sides.
    The example2 shows in gray the area which should be the entire photo.

    Your fancy_images display differently because they are resizing the images. You can also set a width / height to your galleria shortcode as well.

    @Elliott,
    Thanks for looking into this.
    fancy_images is okay, but how do I go about to fix the Galleria so that no part of the image is cropped?

    Increase the height and width in the shortcode.
