    Hi,

I tried a number of times to select a sidebar for my homepage. I created the page "home" which i then selected the content in the "main-page content area" for the theme. However the sidebar would never seem to load. I looked on the forum and uploaded your "featured-custom.zip" file that you created. This didn't seem to help as the sidebar which now showed showed only "Recent Posts" and not the sidebar that i had selected. Went and tried on another pc to make sure my browser was not the problem. I have now re-installed the original "featured-custom" file and seem back to square one! No sidebar........... Unfortunately i need a sidebar for the homepage as we have 2 webcams that are widely used which i need to place there. Also, i can create sidebars but seem unable to delete sidebars after they are created... i now have some redundant ones that i need to get rid of but can't. Help with both of these probs would be great.

    Regards...........

    I used the 1. [zip] featured-custom-sidebar.zip (1.6 KB, 2 downloads) 2 weeks old

I will now use the new one:

    1. [zip] custom-sidebar-featured-custom.zip (1.7 KB, 0 downloads) 1 minute old

And let you know if i have any problems...... your support is truly awesome. Thanks

    Hello mrimd,

What theme and version are you using? The homepage has it's own sidebar called "Homepage Widget Area" which you can drag widgets to.

Alright, make sure you use the last file in this thread,

    http://mysitemyway.com/support/topic/sidebar-to-the-homepage#post-2159

And then in Dashboard -> inFocus -> Homepage select a page to display on your mainpage content area. Next edit that page and select a custom sidebar to use.
