Files responsible for pagination?

Hi, I raised this topic before:

In my first installation of AWAKE the pagination feature unfortunately does not work. Some file must be missing or incomplete in this particular installation - because I tried elsewhere (different folder and fresh copy of AWAKE) and it worked.

But as I have already so much content in the first version and also made some minor customizations I would like to try and get pagination running there.

Could you tell me which files are responsible for pagination? I would then try to only replace these files... maybe I get lucky and don't have to set up the whole thing from scratch.

    Thanks!

    Hi dumbledore,

You should install the WP-PageNavi plugin and see if that one does the job!

[Edit] Here's the link for the plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-pagenavi/

    Cheers,
    Uniq

    Thanks Uniq,

I just installed wp-pagenavi from your link. When activating it, I got the message "Das Plugin kann nicht aktiviert werden, da es einen fatalen Fehler erzeugt." ("Plugin can not be activated, as it would cause a fatal error").

So, still at sea with that.

EDIT: Besides, in my other attempt with AWAKE (freshly downloaded, installed in a different folder) there is no "wp-pagenavi" plugin installed, but pagination works. Seems to me there must be a function somewhere inside AWAKE which just could be corrupted in my initial version...

    Hey Dumbledore,

Awake has wp-pagenavi built in (dont have to use the plugin) so it is most likely a corrupted or customized file that is causing the problem.

What I would do is download the latest version of Awake and introduce your customized files one by one and check if pagination is breaking.

The files you will most likely want to look at are..

    archive.php
    search.php
    functions.php
    lib/functions/theme-functions.php

Let us know if this helps dumbledore.

I replaced all 4 files with the ones from the package that works - still no pagination in my original installation. Phew... can you think of anything else?

Hey dumbledore, what I would do is go ahead and use the latest version of Awake and then copy over your old customized files one by one to see if they are causing an issue.

This way it would be easier to see if one of your files is causing a problem.
