Featured images in RSS feed

   I have searched the web and found that this can be done, examples here http://voodoopress.com/include-images-in-your-wordpress-rss-feed/ and here http://www.strangework.com/2010/02/25/how-to-add-a-post-thumbnail-to-an-rss-feed-in-wordpress/

   The problem is when I acces the functions.php file in my dejavu theme it doesnt work I get all the code I enter at the top of my website pages.

   What step am I missing and should I be adding this code to the function.php file, am I missing opening and closing tags or something.

   Hello camthecameraman,

   This one, http://voodoopress.com/include-images-in-your-wordpress-rss-feed/, works fine for me.

   Paste the code into the bottom of your functions.php file before the ending ?> tag.
