download install problem

   downloaded theme modular and Myrid. Unzipped folder and ftp the unzipped folder to the themes folder. Then tried to activate and it gave me a server error and locked up the wordpress. When theme was deleted it went back to normal. I tried three different wordpress blogs and two different themes what am I doing wrong. I have done this before and it worked fine but it has been a couple of months. I downloaded the psd but the instructions just said they were there. Am I supposed to download those to the theme folder too? I do not remember doing that before.

   Hello go4itnow,

   Get in contact with your hosting provider and check if they are using the latest versions of PHP and MySQL. Also make sure that your using the latest version of Wordpress.

   Talked to my host which is host excellence a US based large hosting company. They are running the latest versions of everything. He looked at the web site and stated there may be a special PHP module that you are using that is not turned on. They of course would get someone to turn them on if they knew. Here is what I did to check as much as I could. I installed Myriad and Dejavu both caused the same problem. I also downloaded two other themes from two different sources they both worked fine. Neither of those two themes are as complicated or feature rich as yours. Also this server is presently running Module 1.5 and what I downloaded was Module 1.6.

   Let me know what you think can be done.
