Disappearing menus on Method

   I think there may be a bug in the menus of the Method preview sites on OS X Lion. After a few minutes of browsing, the text of the drop down menus disappear—the menu still drops down, and its links are still clickable, you just can't see the text.

   I've seen this in Safari on OS 10.7.0 and 10.7.1. I haven't seen it on my own site, but I don't have many menus in place yet. I haven't tested any other browsers or OS for that.

   Also: I've made a few minor customizations (changing the size of the slider, tweaking the font stack)—will I need to make those over again each time you update the theme? And how will I know when theme updates are available.

   Hello randot,

   You can subscribe to our blog feed for updates, http://mysitemyway.com/feed/.

   As long as you do the customizations in the skin editor or in the admin panel then they will carry over between updates.

   As for the menu problem are you using Safari 5.1? It looks fine on windows 7. Can you confirm?

   Thanks, I'll subscribe. I made the edits in the wp dashboard under Appearance > Editor. Is that what you mean by the admin panel?

   For the menu problem, I'm using Safari 5.1 on this computer, and 5.0 on my laptop; I've seen the problem happen on both. In fact, I just saw it happen right here on this forum page (screenshot below). To be clear, the menus all load fine at first, but then at some point after a minute or so (possibly after navigating with the menu?) the text disappears. I first noticed it on this preview page: http://themes.mysitemyway.com/method/features/multiple-sliders/tabbed-slider/?themedemo=method&extracss=coffee

   If it's CSS then you would do it in Dashboard -> your theme -> General Settings -> Custom CSS.

   I'm not seeing the menu problem on my end so I'll assume it's a mac issue (i'm on windows 7) and flag it for the rest of our team to take a look.

   This is the first time I've heard about this though so in the meantime try reinstalling Safari and test on some other computers as well.

   Hi randot,

   Thanks for alerting us.

   We've actually had another user alert us to the fact that Method menu links disappear in Lion's version of Safari.

   Unfortunately all of our development computers are running Snow Leopard version 10.6.8. and the menu works fine running Safari 5 and we currently don't have access to a Mac running Lion.

   We do plan on upgrading to Lion at which time we'll debug the menu, but we currently don't have a time frame.

   I can confirm this. I am seeing it on all themes (including the showcase on your site) in Safari 5.1+ on Mac OS 10.7. What happens is the menu draws, but then it looks like the background color draws over the text.
