Desired parent page not showing as option

Hi - I am creating a bunch of hierarchical pages - with home, then parent, child, grandchild levels. When I add a new page I notice that all of the pages don't show up to be options for the parent page. In fact, sometimes only the children or grandchildren pages show up as potential parents, which is the reverse of what I need.

Do all the pages need to be added in a certain order in order for the hierarchy to work? Or why don't all the pages show up as parent options? Do I need to plan everything out, then delete all of my pages and start over adding them in a certain order?

    Thanks for any guidance!

    Hello marinca,

When creating a new page you can set it's parent to any existing page that you want and it will automatically go down a level.

If it's not then deactivate your plugins and ask on the Wordpress support forums, http://wordpress.org/support/, as it's not really a theme issue.
