I have a theme update question. I have DejaVu 1.5 installed and would like to update to 1.7 but am not getting an update notice within the WP updates page. Am I missing something or should I perform a manual update?

    Thanks,
    Ed

  3. Hi Elliot...I'm looking into moving over to Studio Press for the automatic theme update functionality. Is this something you guys will have in place soon. If so, I'd love to stay put. :)

Yes we are looking into it. When we figure something out we'll push it through a future update.

  5. Elliot, I am having a bunch of problems updating my themes from 1.9 to 2.1. Two questions...

    1. I have manually uploaded the v2.1 theme into the themes folder and have tried to activate it from the themes panel in WP. When I do, all of my settings have been lost. When I try to import the advanced settings from my backup right before the update, I am getting a "There was an error importing your options, please try again." error message that then sends me to the general settings tab of the theme. What do I do now?

    2. The absence of an auto (one click) update is a HUGE issue with these themes for me. Is this planned to be fixed in the next version of the theme? I like the fact that you guys have been implementing things like responsiveness etc but one click theme updates are MUCH more important to me and I would imagine to others.

Looking forward to your replies on each question.

    1. You most likely renamed the theme folder which will save your settings under a different name making them unusable, it's not recommended to rename your theme folder. When you update you have to upload the theme folder via FTP so it overwrites the old theme.

    2. It's one of the features we will be working on after our next theme.

  7. if I upload and it overwrites does that mean that I have to backup and re-import adv settings and custom css changes each time I update or will the changes carry over? I see that you recc a backup and also a save of adv settings but this is just a precaution, correct?

Yes just a precaution. If you have renamed your theme folder though then you will have to export / import your settings after each update, it's not recommended to rename the theme folder.

    Hi There,

i am a new customer and i really LOVE your themes. They are representing everything that i was always looking for. However, i have to second RitzCarlson in that a on-click autoupdate function is VERY much needed, especially when building sites for clients. It can become a nightmare quickly!

In fact i was turning away from my last WP Themes Club exactly cause of lack of that function. I am glad though to read that you are going to implement it. Is it possible to give a (rough) timeframe when this function will be implemented?

Thanks and looking forward to implement your beautiful themes in my future projects!

It has a very high priority in our feature list but I can't say for sure when it will get implemented. You can expect it to be soon though.

Hi, Elliott. I've noticed a number of discussions asking for an automatic update system for your themes. From this particular forum, it looks like you said it would be coming "soon." That was two years ago. Can you give us an idea when that feature might be added?
