Cufon Fonts Not Rendering Well (or at all) in Firefox 7 and IE 9

   I searched the support forum, but couldn't find any relevant posts. Today I noticed that the cufon typefaces were not rendering well in Firefox 7 and IE 9 for my site or the Awake demo site. Honestly, I'm not sure if they are rendering at all. See the attached page captures comparing my site and the Awake demo site in different browser versions on Windows. (IE9 and Firefox 7 on Windows 7, all others on Windows XP). The headings look okay, it is the body text that is ugly.

   I've made sure the "Disable Cufon" option in the Awake control panel is NOT checked. I even toggled it. I am running WordPress Version 3.2.1. I even disabled my plug-ins, no change.

   Hello marbuckner,

   I checked in IE7, 8, 9 but they all display the same for me. Try clearing your browser cache and make sure that compatibility view is not enabled.

   What operating system are you using?

   I've cleared the browser caches, made sure compatibility mode was off, rebooted, and even removed all the Helvetica fonts off my system in case that was the problem.

   I'm running Windows 7 64-bit SP1.

   I checked out the sties on another PC with IE 9 and they look fine. It must be my PC. Very strange. I think I have a Helvetica Neue Black font installed on my PC that is causing the problem. Windows 7 appears to handle fonts as well as all the other versions of Windows. Grrr.

   I looked at the other theme demos and only Awake and DejaVu themes have the typeface problem. Please confirm those are the only ones that use Helvetica Neue for body typefaces.

   I think Helvetica Nueue is a regular web safe font. I'm not sure if it's on Windows or not by default. Check and see if you have it installed in your fonts folder. You may have a bold version installed which is why it looks so big.
