Just picked up this theme last night, really like it, but I'm running into issues with Awake - Contact form Widget. I have tried with numerous email accounts but get the same result. After hitting submit all I see is the spinning icon indicating it is sending but nothing else and do not receive any email. See attached. Thanks! Look forward to using this theme!

Hi, I've sent a PM.

When trying to send an email I get a 403 forbidden error,
<html><head> <title>403 Forbidden</title> </head><body> <h1>Forbidden</h1> <p>You don't have permission to access /wp-content/themes/awake/lib/includes/submit-widget.php on this server.</p> <p>Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p> <hr>Make sure that
/wp-content/themes/awake/lib/includes/submit-widget.phpactually exists on your server. You may have to increase it's permissions but I would get in contact with your hosting provider and let them know about this to see if they need to change some settings.Posted 1 year ago # -
That directed to my site Elliot?
The widget has 644 permission.

That is the reply I got within firebug when trying to send an email from your site.
You can try increasing the submit-widget.php file permissions but it would be best to get in contact with your hosting provider and let them know about this error to see what they say.

Okay thanks Elliot, I'll speak to my host.

Hi Elliot, my host has come back to me with this:
I have checked this over and there was an error coming up from mod_security that was stopping the form from being submitted however I have now disabled this rule for the domain and checked it is no longer coming up however the form does not seem to submit still. After the change I checked through the logs again and couldn't see any errors for the script at all.

It looks like it switched to a 500 Internal Server Error,
<title>500 Internal Server Error</title> </head><body> <h1>Internal Server Error</h1> <p>The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.</p> <p>Please contact the server administrator, [EMAIL ADDRESS] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.</p> <p>More information about this error may be available in the server error log.</p> <p>Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p> <hr>The error message offered the webmasters email (I took it out). Go ahead and check the logs again to see if it says anything.

Hello I am having the same problem with the Contact Form 7 Plugin - I can use it on my other sites and it works fine but I cannot get it to work on a brand new site I am building up for a client. http://www.stlmarines.org - thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Hello RStron1,
Could you please show me the exact page where you have the Contact Form 7?
Also, which is the problem with it? If you insert the shortcode in your content area, does Wordpress includes the form in your page?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Hello Ruderic,
Here is the exact page http://www.stlmarines.org/become-a-member/ - every time I try to send contact info it does not allow me - thank you so kindly for helping !

RStron1, is the emails function actually working in your server? It may be a server problem, not a Wordpress one.
Posted 1 year ago # -
@ Ruderic - I tried calling GoDaddy and they were not much help -
Posted 1 year ago # -
If you try the built-in contact form (The Awake default one). Does it work?
Posted 1 year ago # -
@ Ruderic - I believe that I tried it and it also did not work
Posted 1 year ago # -
Ok I added the widget and send a test email - said it sent it but did not receive and email - I am wondering if I am missing a part of the theme - is this possible?
Posted 1 year ago # -
I have tried about 5 different contact forms and none of them are working -

Ok after about 15 hours of fighting this plug In I still have not given up - like a Bull in a China Store - I get results.....After a few phone calls, testing the Contact Form 7 on all my other websites on my personal account ( not my clients account) we may have found the culprit. We have the clients Wordpress using the Windows platform and not Linux - which we believe is causing the issue - goDaddy is switching the Windows domain over to Linux as we speak for no charge and we think that this will take care of the problem..... Will keep you informed.

If it helps RStron1 the php function that actually sends the mail is called,
mail()Here are some threads I came up with in regards to that function and windows based servers such as IIS,
http://www.daniweb.com/web-development/php/threads/128820
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=302840Keep us updated on if the linux switch works.

Well after switching over to the Linux I sent a test through Contact Form 7 and I got a green box - but the email never came through - since the IP changed for the site switching over to Linux I figured that the email on the hosting had been changed also. I have went in and deleted and re uped a new email account for the site and now it wont send again - that old saying What Doesnt Kill You Makes You Stronger is coming to mind with all this......geesh!
got any ideas? I have installed the contact form 7 on many of my personal sites in my own account and they all work perfectly - weird.....

Here are some things we need to look at,
1. Does it work when using the default theme?
2. Is it just the contact form 7 plugin that will not send emails?
3. Does our Awake contact form work fine?I think it is a problem with your server but go ahead and PM us a Wordpress login so we can take a quick look at how you have the plugin setup.

Ok Elliot - just PM'd you with the info - thank you inadvance for the help - it is greatly appreciated.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Ok I got it all fixed.... Contact Form 7 now working - it was a setting within the GoDaddy stuff....
Posted 1 year ago # -
Glad you got it working RStron1. It seems that GoDaddy servers are the cause of a lot of problems. Can you let us know exactly what the issue was for future customers? If it's too much trouble then do not worry about it.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Well the email had to be set up ( have to create a email within the account for the url ) if that makes sense.....
