Conceal Categories Used for Internal Organization?

  1. Hi Guys,
Is there a way to conceal a few categories that i am using for internal organization? For example, I use the category "featured" to pull posts into my home page slider. But, the "featured" category naturally displays "publicly" in the post meta...Is there a way to have the category NOT display on any post? I obviously still want the category to actively sort the posts, so I'm not trying to disable the posts from showing...

I also have a "Home-Special" category for displaying specified posts in the Custom Home Page area but don't want that category to display either.

Perhaps there is a better way for internally organizing/filtering than using categories???

I'm using WP 3.6 (which updated just fine BTW), and Echelon v. 2.1

    Thanks for your help,

    Hello kmccamy,

Have you considered excluding them in Dashboard -> your theme -> Blog?

  3. Hi Elliott,

That still doesn't "hide" the said category from the post meta-data but it will work...It DOES seem to hide it from the Tag Cloud which was also what I was trying to accomplish.
