Change Intro text using category as main navigation

Currently we have a few WP menu items that are based on WP categories. Example attached is Advocacy. When you click Advocacy in main menu the Intro area says "Archives" in big letters and beneath is the teaser "Category Archive for: ‘Advocacy’". Technically it's a post assigned to the category Advocacy, and the main menu item 'Advocacy' pulls all posts with that category.

We would like it to just say "Advocacy" instead of Archives.

    Hello nxpage,

You can change that around line 1072 - 1092 in the /lib/functions/theme.php file.

Thanks Elliott but I'm not a programmer and could not figure out how to change this.

    1. What would the change need to be?

    2. Can this be placed in our /awake-child/functions.php file? We're using a child theme and we don't want to modify core source code for risk of overwriting with theme updates.

    3. Side question: How can I get email when a forum/message is answered?

    1. You can try using this function,, to check for a certain category and then change the text.

    2. You could try copying the whole function and place it inside the child theme functions.php file.

    3. There is a "RSS feed for this topic" link beneath this post.
