    Hi,

    I want to change the size of my homepage´s slideshow, from 100% width to 60% or 70% width and locate it on the left of the screen.
    How can I achieve that? I´ve been changing the css but it doesn´t fit the screen every little change I make.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Take a look at this guide: http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Changing_Slider_Dimensions

    There you will find detailed instructions on how to customize the slider dimensions.

    Thank you so much but I´m not able to achieve exactly what I want...

    How can I fit the overlay text and the arrows width? It doesn´t fit with the image size, and I´ve tried it changing every values as possible in the css.
    Here it is an image of what I have right now.

    Hello iteran,

    For the arrows look around line 280 in /wp-content/themes/[your_theme]/shortcodes.css,

    .nivo-directionNav a{position:absolute;top:45%;z-index:9;cursor:pointer;display:block;width:40px;height:40px;background:url(images/sliders/nivo_arrows.png) no-repeat;text-indent:-9999px;border:0;}

    Go ahead and send us a link to your page so we can see what's going.

    Add this in Dashboard -> your theme -> General Settings -> Custom CSS,

    .nivo-caption { width: 650px !important; }

    Ok, it works perfect now...just one more question by the moment:

    - I would like to get the otro text a bit up, which element margin have I to change?
    - Would it be possible to add custom content in the area that is empty now at the right of the slider? How?

    Thanks

    Sorry, I´ve already solved my first problem, decreasing slider_module height in style.css, but still wanting to add custom content to the empty area

    Try this out, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php/Adding_stuff_to_the_header. You can position it so it displays next to the slider as well.

    Just make sure to surround your code with this,

    <?php if (if_home()) { ?>
    insert your code here
    <?php } ?>

    So it only displays on the homepage.

    Ok, I´ve added stuff to the header, next to the slider, is it possible to add a widget there?

    Thanks.

    What widget are you thinking of? We have some shortcode versions which you can use, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php?title=Widget_Shortcodes.

    I'll look into creating a tutorial for adding a widget area to the header. You might be able to position it over the slider with CSS.

    Ok, It works perfect, one more thing:

    I can´t get this only in homepage, I write this on header.php:

    <br />
    <div id=&quot;header&quot;><br />
    		<div id=&quot;header_inner&quot;></p>
    <p>		<?php mysite_header();</p>
    <p>		?><br />
    <?php if (if_home()) { ?><br />
    		<div class = &quot;header_widget_area&quot;><?php dynamic_sidebar( 'header_widget_area' ); ?></div></p>
    <p>		<div style = &quot;position: absolute; top: 140px; left: 665px;&quot;><br />
    			<div id=&quot;cajaInicio&quot;></p>
    <p>			</div><br />
    		</div><br />
    <?php } ?></p>
    <p>		</div><!-- #header_inner --><br />
    </div><!-- #header -->

    But I get the error message you can see on the screenshot

    It's this,

    if (is_home())

    instead of,

    if (if_home())

    Your widget has a z-index of 9999, take that off.
