Can't install theme

Hi, I have a brand new, from scratch, installation of WordPress 3.0.1 and when I activate the Infocus theme I get an "Internal Server Error". In order to "fix" the error I have to log into the server and manually delete the Infocus theme folder. Once deleted I can see and access the site with WP's default theme.

I've uploaded the Infocus folder through my FTP client to /wp-content/themes and I've also used the upload theme option in WP and I always get the "Internal Server Error" message. Even if I just click on the preview button in the themes panel in WP, on the preview window, I get the "Internal Server Error" message.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi rottec,

Is your site hosted on GoDaddy?

I so this issue has to do with some recent changes GoDaddy has made to their servers.

You can find the resolution to this here:

  5. Hi I am having the same 500 Internal error issues as everyone else post installation of the inFocus theme. I am hosted on Linux GoDaddy servers as well. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the theme many times. Replacing the php file actually has not worked for me. Three calls to GoDaddy have given me no answers. Can someone please help me? I need to get the site running asap.

    Hello wicketGril,

Try contacting GoDaddy and asking them for the error log. We might be able to get more information from it.

  7. Hi,

I'm having a horrible time getting the error log from GoDaddy. If I switch hosting will this fix the problem? I am thinking of switching to Site5..

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello wicketGril,

Yes, switching should be an option! I don't know about Site5, but let us know how it turned out in the end.
