Can't delete social media icons in footer (Fusion)

I had Twitter and Facebook icons in the footer by putting code in the footer outro text section. I realized they had the wrong URLs attached so I tried to change them, but they did not change for some reason. I then decided to put the social media icons on top of the page and not on the bottom. I was successful putting social media icons at the top with the correct links. However, the social media links also remain at the bottom of the page with the incorrect URLs. I tried completely deleting the footer outro text, but the icons (and bad links) are still in the footer.

I don't understand; the icons should be deleted but they're not. How do I get rid of the footer icons?

    Hello gtslgroup,

You must have customized the files to add those there. Create a backup and completely delete the theme before downloading / uploading a fresh copy.

Actually, I found out you can add a simple snippet of code in the shortcode.css to make the icons go away:

This seemed to do the trick, and I didn't have to reinstall the theme.
