BuddyPress vs. Simple:Press

   Good Morning Forum

   I just started using SimplePress right before BuddyPress was introduced. I like options (sometimes dilemmas). However your thoughts would be appreciated. Should I keep on the Simple:Press pathway or is their strong reasons for moving to BuddyPress ?

   Hello nonprofitpartners,

   I've never used SimplePress before, are you having any issues with it?

   Buddypress has a lot of features and has a good team behind it. We recently created child themes for Buddypress that you can use, http://mysitemyway.com/free-buddypress-child-themes-for-all-our-wordpress-themes/.

   There is also bbPress, http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress/, which is what we are using here for our support forums.

   No there are no issues with Simple:Press. Seems to work well and has nice customizations.

   I did some basic research before making the move to incorporating Simple:Press about a month ago (not knowing BuddyPress was the tool MySiteMyWay uses and was incorporating) and was wondering from others experience does it really matter which tool is used or are their compelling reasons for perhaps one over the other.

   My understanding is that Simple Press and BuddyPress are different animals.

   Simple Press is a forum plug in, more analogous to bbPress, while BuddyPress is a social network script (with activity feeds, groups, profiles, etc)

   avatar12 is right that SimplePress and BuddyPress are different animals and it really depends on the features you're looking for.
