Blog Popular/Related Posts and 'Read More' Color Scheme

  1. Hey I'm using the Elegance theme, if you look at our blog page -
    You can see 'date', 'category', and 'read more' all have a black background with white text. I wondered if there is somewhere where I could change these elements to alternate colours?

    Also the main issue I'm having is on this page -
    Where 'Popular Posts' at the bottom are displayed again with white text and a really ugly black border top and bottom. If you could help me find where I can change this that would be great.

    Many thanks

    Hello thislife,

    Add this to your custom CSS,

    .fancy_meta span { background-color: red !important; color: blue !important; }
    .fancy_meta span em, .fancy_meta span a { color: blue !important; }
    .blog_tabs { background-color: transparent !important; }

  3. Thanks Elliot,

    That seems to do the trick for most of it -

    But the border at the bottom of the 'popular/related posts section' is still black -

    Also, can custom css be used to change the background and text colour of the 'read more' sections - and the 'archives'/'calendar'/'recent posts' in the sidebar - maybe to a blue to match the page title?

    Thanks again

    Update your theme to the latest version and then look in your skin and make sure all of the jQuery color pickers are set to transparent color. If they are set to black and not supposed to be then remove the color code, #000000 and save the skin.

  5. Yep, I've done that, but still having the same issue... any ideas?

    Create a new skin, edit it, and save to see if it does the same. If it does not then it's a problem in your skin.

    EDIT: Though I just checked your site again and it's not there anymore so you most likely already fixed it in the skin.

  7. Thanks Elliot,
    I'm not sure what it was I changed but the black border seems to have gone from the bottom of the 'popular/related posts section' .

    Last question, on my blog page
    Can I with css or another method
    1 - Change the colour of the headers in the sidebar so they aren't solid black with white writing, they are blue like my page title? I'm referring to 'archives', 'categories', 'recent posts', 'calendar' etc...
    2 - Change the 'read more' under each post so again it doesn't have the black box with white text?

    Many thanks

    1. You can do that in the skin editor.

    2. Are you setting your color scheme to black? You have too much stuff turning to black. Try creating a new skin, edit it, and save to see if that works fine.

    If not then this CSS will turn it to white,

    .post_more_link { background: white !important; }
