    Using Modular Theme.
    Here's my short code used on http://ciasem.com/dev/:

    [blog_list thumb="small" showposts="2" post_content="full" category_in="6" pagination="true" disable="image,title,content,meta,more"]

    Nothing (no posts) displays inside my Custom Homepage Text box. I checked the blog category ID and it is 6. Each blog post does have a featured image. And an excerpt even. Why won't the code pull the most recent 2 posts from Category ID 6?

    Help?

    Hello turpinlandscaping,

    Your site is timing out for me. I'll check again later.

    Be sure your not using a static page in Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading.

    Are you using a static page in Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading? If so then remove it.

    Nope. It's already set to 'latest posts' and not to a static page.

    Let's try the following,

    1. Deactivate all plugins.

    2. Completely delete the theme before downloading / uploading a fresh copy.

    I deactivated all the 9 plugins recent posts for blog ID 6 still not showing.

    If I delete the theme, won;t I have to rebuild all the menus and theme settings from scratch??? This seems extreme when I am using the latest version 2.5 and the theme itself seems fully functional. I do not wish loose my existing Modular Theme settings.

    Perhaps something in my Custom CSS is preventing the recent posts from displaying inside the Custom Homepage Text box????

    .is_home #intro { display: none !important; }
    .jqueryslidemenu { display: none !important; }
    .has_header_social.has_header_text #header_extras { display: none !important; }
    #header { display: none !important; }

    #sidebar .widget, #slider_module_inner, #intro_inner, .page, .post_excerpt_module, .post_module, .share_this_module, .about_author_module, #respond, .popular_posts_module, .related_posts_module, .comment-text, .post_grid_module, .post_list_module, .single_post_module, .additional_posts_module .blog_tabs_content, .blog_tabs_content .trackbacks_pingbacks, .additional_posts {
    margin-bottom: 5px;
    padding: 20px;

    Unless you have renamed the theme folder you will not lose any theme settings. They are stored in the database.
