    How can I add a nice trim to my menu (seen below) like I have on my widget (second picture)?

    It's an option to change the border for the widget, but not for the menu itself, especially when creating your own theme.

    P.S. Is there also a way to darken the highlighted color when the mouse hovers over a selected menu?

    Thanx!

    Hello daveosei,

    Are you wanting to add a border to your menu? Try adding this in Dashboard -> your theme -> General Settings -> Custom CSS,

    #primary_menu { border: 1px solid black !important; }

    Or you can also change the menu background image when editing the skin, http://mysitemyway.com/docs/index.php?title=Creating_a_new_Skin#Header.
