    Hi there,

    I am having a couple of issues with the InFocus template and can't find the answers in your support forum.

    I have purchased it and uploaded to http://www.awepm.co.uk/ but I seem to be getting a white box on the left during a transition. How can I stop this from happening?

    Also, how do I get the Read More button in the slider description text?

    And one more question, the content at the bottom of the homepage that is there when the theme is first installed, where is that stored/accessed?

    Hope you can help.

    Hello,

    1) Are you using the slider builder in the theme options panel? Or you are creating the slides as posts?

    2) If you are creating your slides in the theme options panel, there you will have a checkbox that allows you to enable or disable the "Read More" button. If you are using posts as slides, then you have to create the button using it's shortcode.

    3) You can find that in the file "lib/includes/homepage-default.php" in the theme folder.

    Hi Ruderic,

    Thanks for the reply.

    1) I am using the slider builder in the theme options panel. The white box only appears for a second during the transition but doesn't look good at all.

    2) I see the 'disable read more' box but don't know how to enable it. Is it automatic? If so when does it appear?

    3) Thanks for that, I will look into that file.

    Cheers

    Hi,

    1) Could you please try creating your slides using posts? I cant guarantee you that it will be fixed, but I would like you to try that.

    2) If you add a "Link URL" in the slider builder, then the button will be displayed automatically. If you create your slides using posts, you have to add the button using the respective shortcode.

    1) I've changed the slider source to posts but I am still having the same white box issue. It seems to be only happening when a Full Cropped type with description text on the left transitions into a Stage type. Stage to Full Cropped transition is fine.

    Have a look http://www.awepm.co.uk. The whit box happens between item 2 and 2 in the slider.

    2) The description text on the left is now being pulled from the post(s) but it is automatically putting a "Read More" button without me using a shortcode. If I wish to disable the button, how do I do that?

    Cheers

    Hi,

    1) Effectively, the problem occurs when going from a left content slide to a full width one. This is caused because of the background image that is applied to the full width slide. I am not sure how to fix it, let's see if another member of the staff can come up with a solution.

    2) Open the file "lib/includes/featured-categories.php" and delete the code in line #36:

    <a href="<?php echo get_permalink(); ?>" class="button">Read More</a>

    Also, you can go back and create your slides using the builder, so you can disable the "Read More" button without modifying the code.

    Hi Ruderic,

    That would be great if it could be resolved or you could suggest a workaround.

    Hello damiangrady,

    As for the stage background what we can try here is reducing the amount of time it takes to fade in /wp-content/themes/infocus/lib/scripts/custom.js on line 54. You can also try editing the stage background to another color or try making it transparent. You can find the image in /wp-content/themes/infocus/styles/[your_style]/stage.jpg.

    If this is not acceptable for you then it might be best to just wait for the next update as we have updated and improved our sliders greatly.

    Cheers Elliot.

    If I make the stage transparent I presume I will need to make the image a png. Where is the stage.jpg referenced in the code so I can replace it with stage.png?

    Cheers

    Open up /wp-content/themes/infocus/style.css and on line 343 you should see this,

    #home_feature.staged .background{height:400px;background:transparent url(images/stage.jpg) center top no-repeat;}

    Let us know how that works for you damiangrady.
